Hey td ~ No fair playing favorites -- you send one HHWer something wickedly delightful, you send us all something wickedly delightful ... Isn't that in the bylaws somewhere, Dear Keeper of the Records CabbageRoll, I mean, ColeSlaw?

Did DR Coleslaw get a promotion?

Sorry to hear about Monkey, Jane--being regaled with Monkey stories was always a highlight of our HHW gatherings here in PDX.  :)

Around 4:35 my phone rang and it was the multi-talented Robert Grusecki. I had forgotten I had a date with him and his wonderful wife Anya Tucker at 4. I've been a huge fan of their songs, and DR Jose and I saw their show GREETINGS FROM YORKVILLE.  I grabbed a taxi, met them at Cafe LaFortuna on West 71st Street, and had a wonderful two-hour visit with them.  I now have a copy of their songbook, and I recommend them to everyone.

DR Nursie, a region 2 DVD is European and will not play in a standard USA/Canada Region 1 DVD player.  Is your DVD player one that will play any region or only Region 1?  If your answer is multiregional, you win the sparkling prize and BK will have to do without. However, I know that he and DR MBarnum both have nonregional player, but I'm not sure about other DRs.  I await your answer, O lovely Jane.

I have a region-code-free DVD player.  If you're making a possibility list, put me down...I know that I would be too far down the list to even be considered, but there's always hope. ;)

Congratulations to Elan on the new baby! He's very handsome!

I hope Mrs. Elan feels better soon. I've been there.

What?

No "Huskettes"?

No "Big Girls"?

No "Pleasantly Plush"?

I vaguely recall some other term long ago. Can't think what it was.

DaNiece -- re the plasticized body exhibit: I saw one of those exhibits here in town. More than the whole bodies, I found the organ specimens fascinating. Now I know what happens to my arteries if I eat bacon.

DRs Elmore and Arnold, so glad you got the DVDs. Hope you enjoy the movie as much as I did.

I did get to watch a MURDER SHE WROTE episode tonight. It co-starred Angela's nephew David Lansbury. Susan Clark was also in the guest cast. I remembered this episode vividly from seeing it years ago. Good mystery

Then I watched BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA on Blu-ray. The film has NEVER looked this good on home video before, and I thought the transfer was marvelous. I hadn't seen it in quite awhile, so I had forgotten that Cary Elwes and Billy Campbell were two of Lucy's suitors. They certainly looked scrumptuous in HD.

And those creepy shadow effects that Coppola worked throughout the film showed up superbly in the increased resolution.

THE CLOSER was marvelous.

I was simply amazed how the writers were able to change my feelings about the obnoxious and irritating guy so that by 2/3 of the way through, he became an almost sympathetic criminal. Amazing! And, of course, such a killer ending.

Kudos to all!

I enjoyed tonight's LIFE episode as well. Maybe not as masterful as a couple of the previous ones were but certainly fun. With Damien Lewis' lovably quirky character, I'm so surprised the show hasn't caught on.

When I flipped over to LIFE after THE CLOSER went off, I saw the beginnings of Chapter 3 of HEROES (have no idea how Chapter 2 ended, thank goodness).

Oh, I hope the strike will end so they can start writing and shooting some more episodes. Looked wonderful.

I don't have much to say, except that today I accidentally got used gum on my pants. And it wasn't even my gum.

Not that I had personal knowledge (back then, anyway!) but a friend whose mom shopped for him in the "husky" section told me he didn't feel too bad about it, because the girl's clothing section was called:

CHUBBETTE!

Isn't that cruel???

And in the world of the movies, there's:

How husky was he?

He'd wear a blue and red outfit and people would try to mail things in him.
