LOL, no, I'm in Sioux City. He's here stumping for Richardson and the staffers invited me to join them all for dinner.

That's what I thought!  Well, you could completely confound him by saying you know General Kauffman's son.  Of course, he may not know who General Kauffman was, but it's a pleasant way to break the ice.  ;)

I just gave one of our local disc jockeys a heart attack.  I called our station that plays Christmas music 24 hours a day from Thanksgiving thru Christmas Day.  Their music, for the most part is already pre-sorted so that they don't repeat a lot of songs each day.  Well, I just called the D. J. and asked that since Dan Fogelberg had died today could be possibly slip in SAME OLD LANG SYNE.  He started to answer that he would see what he could do, but he stopped and said, "What did you just say to me?"  So, I explained that Dan Fogelberg had died this morning.  He asked me all these questions about his death, and said he hadn't heard anything about it.

The way to tell would be the "dripping blood" logo of 300.

Why?  Will it come off on my hands?

Cilla, I'd say OK to the housing, but only if you are given the right of veto.  (No tail-pullers allowed.)  You could help give a young person's life direction and focus, but that doesn't mean giving up the direction and focus of your own life in the process.  And make sure you don't get overrun with the young people - set limits.

Thanks....He's also Howard Dean's cousin.  Ok, I'm convinced. I should go. I better go change out of my old sweatshirt and at least put on something presentable

They also offered to clean my house if I would let some volunteers stay here for a week.  It's tempting, but now knowing them and living alone...I don't think I'm up for housing college kids

College kids!  Would they like to stay at my place?

Cilla, my dad was Senior Officer at Ft. Douglas for about 40 years--that's where the museum is.  This mayor would at least know about Ft. Douglas, LOL.

The problem is they will be here doing the hard core crunch time campaign volunteering. Which means they may be getting here at all hours of the night - maybe crashing for a couple hours and going again. All they want is a place to crash and a shower.  I have a ton to do and I think it would just be too disruptive for me right now.  Having lived alone so long, I do not sleep through noise in the house.  I may volunteer and work with them that way, but only when I have time.

Hot link, not hot line... And I'm told I keep calling Enchanted Enchantment, so I'd better go fix that in the notes.

Fosca has indeed now joined Dan Fogelberg.

Thanks DRs.

Somehow "Leader Of the Band" and "Run for the Roses" will now be linked with Magnus's Sister.

Tom, remember always that you and Colin have loved and were loved in return whenever you think of Fosca.

Der Brucer and I send our love and hugs, as do Mikey, Bonnie, Buster and Fletcher.

DR Tomovoz---I was sad about Dan Fogelberg, because I always liked his music.

But hearing about Fosca is what's making me cry.

Vibes of strength to you and Colin and big hugs from here.

I went to the memorial service today for the conductor that I assisted for 10 years. It was very emotional, because he was so well loved and such a part of Atlanta's music scene for 50 years. There were many people who said that they would never have gone into music were it not for the free pops concerts Albert and his orchestra played every summer. He always found the funding himself and thus was never rich, but certainly he was rich in friends.

It was great to see so many of his original musicians attending and there was lots of great music and funny stories recounted. (He was quite a character!)

The event ended by playing his album "Hooked on Country" (I worked on the sessions for this and it was a Grammy nominee) as walk-out music. If anyone was sad as they were leaving, this certainly lightened the mood and was the perfect touch.

I've still been kind of weepy all day, even though he lived an amazing life to a ripe old age of 97. (His mother lived to be 105!)

Good Evening!

Well, I've basically been walking around midtown for the past couple of hours.  The rain stopped, so it wasn't too bad walking around.  I went here, I went there.  And just about completed my Christmas shopping in the process.  :)

I, too, am being lazy.  And I'm logey from my brisket of beef sandwich (with sweet potato fries) and my side of one hot line (I just had to try it, and boy was it great).

So, just what kind of line link was it?  Sausage-like? or more hotdog-like?

Well, depends which city you're talking about.
