I am feeling okay. I have transitioned from my bed to the living room, so that's a good sign.

Quote from Jeanne yesterday:My apologies, Jeanne, I did miss your post, not once but twice.  After starting the week feeling really good, I had kind of a pnenomatic setback Wednesday thru Friday.  The wheezing and coughing started coming back on Wednesday, and after resting all day Thursday, I thought I was okay.  Unfortunately, Friday was a long and labored day at work.  This weekend (all three days) is going to be mostly rest, rest, rest.

And that concludes more than you ever wanted to read about my health.

thank you, TCB. I know that cycle: rest, feel better, resume normal activities, relapse. I do hope that this weekend's rest results in  significant improvement.

I'm signing off for the day.  I've got too much to accomplish at the apartment. I'll be back tomorrow.

the most frustrating situation is that I can receive my email, which is on Time Warner, but since the office uses Verizon, I can receive my email but only respond by using Time Warner's webmail.  Oy!

One of the advantages of Gmail, Larry, is that it's not tied to your ISP and thus can be picked up from anywhere. In the past, I believed my ISP when they said I could pick up my email from a friend's computer using webmail. It was a fiasco. But Gmail is really great for that. It's free, too.

Re Li'l Abner, I find it hard to support going to see it as it was my idea and when the original director (my pal David Lee) dropped out I found it appalling that I was not approached.

How rude! >:(

I am SO, So sorry to read about your troubles, DR Elmore. It's no solace I know, but if I lived ANYWHERE near, I'd put the DVDs on hold and come lend a hand.

Continued good thoughts for what you're going through.

I watched the remaining items on THIS SPORTING LIFE this afternoon.

I started off with a 1952 documentary he made called WAKEFIELD EXPRESS, a half hour look at how a small city in northern England puts out its weekly newspaper. How ironic that he'd find himself there for THIS SPORTING LIFE some ten years later. The contacts and goodwill he established in 1952 held him in goos sted when he went back there to film the movie.

The other item in the set was Anderson's last film - a 1993 autobiographical documentary called IS THAT ALL THERE IS? Sort of a "two-days-in-the-life-of" kind of thing, it showed his friends and relatives, his neighborhood acquaintances, etc.

I found it interesting that he did not have on display either his Oscar or his Palme D'Or in his apartment. He did have posters from his films and stage productions decorating the walls.

I spent my remaining time continuing watching THUNDERBALL. I'm within 10 or 15 minutes of finishing it. Then, I'll begin the Agnes Varda films. I believe the first film in the set is her first film LA POINTE COURTE.

I'm heading down now to finish THUNDERBALL and then begin something new and totally different for me. Depending on how long it is, I may get to last night's MONK episode tonight, or it may have to wait until tomorrow while I'm cooking and eating lunch. We'll see.

DR Cillaliz - I have sent you a PM about the Amazon Kindle.   :)

I received it and thank you. They are still too expensive for me to buy one, but maybe as the price goes down,...

FJL, I am very excited to hear about STARFIGHTER at The Village.  I am even more excited about finally meeting you and Skip in person!  I don't suppose you will be getting a hotel room with a full-kitchen, so that Skip could cook?
