Listening to a singer called Rita Reys, who is Dutch. Kind of in the Cleo Laine mold, but not quite as "heavy" a voice. This is a three CD set of songbooks - currently playing is the Bacharach songbook. Also included are Legrand and Gershwin. All three have orchestrations by the wonderful Rogier Van Otterloo, who is also a fine film composer (did several early Paul Verhoeven films, like Turkish Delight).

I decided to go get some donuts. Why is it that when it rains drivers lose their sanity and common sense and behave like they've never been in an automobile before. First of all, it's been raining very hard for two hours - and because whoever designed the streets of the San Fernando Valley was a complete and utter moron, said streets are already flooded. I get to my corner to turn right. There's a car there, clearly intending to turn left at a place where it's almost impossible, especially at this hour. So, I was able to fit to the right of him and as soon as I began turning right this twit decides he'll never be able to turn left and HE begins turning right. What a cretin. And them people on their cells veering between two lanes because they cannot concentrate enough to stay in one lane.

Just got the report from muse Margaret and she really liked the new pages - just three really tiny little fixes. She's loving the characters and again she was very specific about the things she really loved - bits of humor, dialogue, and description, so color me happy and on we go - if it's a similar length to the last book, I've less than 100 pages to go after three weeks of writing.
