Good morning, fellow Dear Readers. It has been raining over a day now, and they have done at least one rescue from a flooded street.

Thanks, Singdaw. This city designed the streets to flood when it rains. Seriously.

Hmm...

In my neighborhood, the decorations seem to run directly from Halloween to Christmas to...Valentine's Day!!

Were any of your "regulars" there to greet you this morning?  Did they tell you that they missed you?  ;)

I watched the SAG awards last night (my first time).  I also watched the pre-show on E.

I'm curious, what channel are the SAG awards on in the US?  HEre they were on a very obscure channel (SunTv). And the pre-show was on our alternate Global which now carries some E! programming.

I actually liked the show and the pre-show. Probably because of missing the Golden Globes.

I am very envious of those seeing SUNDAY IN THE PARK.  HOpefully we will get lots of details.

Ah i am just catching up on last night's posts and i see DR MattH answered one of my questions (the SAG awards were on TNT).

That explains why i've never seen it before since we don't get that station in Canada.

I'm still waiting to see this past season of THE CLOSER. :(

The station that has carried all other seasons is now mostly E!  I'm hoping that the W channel will start it soon (i think they finished the season before a couple of months ago).

Good morning!

COld but not frigid this morning, and it promises to get into the mid-50s, so a pleasant January day overall.

The SAG Awards were simulcast on TNT and TBS, both of which have HD tiers on my cable system. I chose TNT-HD.

Due to the State of the Union Address tonight, very little of interest (including the address) is on TV and almost nothing new. AMERICAN GLADIATORS has a new episode, I think.

I know Fox is repeating the pilot for THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES.

The major networks are all showing sitcoms at 10:30, but they're all rerun episodes, of course.

Today I'll finish BLACKOUT that I started last night. (I don't usually stop a movie in mid-screening, but this is an episodic drama, so I thought I could fudge on it this time).

Tonight during those 3 hours of prime time, I'll be watching a Comedy Central DVD featuring a bunch of standup comedians doing their stand-up routines uncensored. It's three hours, so tonight seems a perfect night to watch this.

DR der Brucer,

By this point, Johnny Weir's outlandish costumes are a part of his presentation. They've always been garish, over-the-top, and eye-catching, exactly the intended effect, I suspect.

DR Matt H. or any other DRs - what did you think about the Reality Television-style "confessionals"?  That was a new one for me in televised skating coverage!

I thought it was dumb frankly. I'd rather have a skilled interviewer try to get information out of the participants instead of letting them babble on. Didn't always show them to their best advantage.

Well, when the skilled interviewer is Andrea Joyce...

Good morning, all! No bugs last night, to my knowledge, but I still had the laundry going by 7:15 this morning.  I think the major hurdles are over, and everything to follow is preventative. I need to pick up a gallon of Steri-Fab, which is supposed to be the best pesticide for bedbugs and mop the floor and spray my luggage this week.  Today's goal is to seal the mattress in its new cover so I can begin sleeping on it again; I dn't want to replace it until I know the apartment is clean.

So goes my life: buggy and boring.  Pity.

Didn't always show them to their best advantage.

It certainly cracks open the window a bit on the polished persona that is presented to the world otherwise!  I agree; I don't like it, but it is intriguing in a rubbernecking sort of way!   :P
