OH!

I keep meaning to ask...

Does anyone know if CBS was planning on broadcasting "Dexter" (from Showtime) before the WGA strike?

CBS eyes "Dexter" for edited broadcastWed Dec 5, 2007

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - As the Hollywood writers strike enters its second month with no end in sight, recycling cable series on broadcast networks is becoming a reality.
CBS Corp. president and CEO Leslie Moonves said that CBS is planning to run some series that air on its Showtime cable unit, including the breakout hit "Dexter."

"'Dexter' is probably the first one to go on -- with some edits," Moonves told reporters at UBS' Global Media & Communications Conference in New York. "It fits with our crime shows."

Former Michigan quarterback, Tom Brady, now New England's QB.

Tom Brady is a Bay Area (northern California) native.

I accidently came across the website for a singer/pianist named Diana McIntosh, who hails from Canada... and I wonder if anyone here has ever heard of her? Her career has spanned decades...

No I haven't.

Especially if you are wearing that red dress from the other day!

I don't believe DR singdaw could ever "wear" that dress.  Oh, he could get his arm or legs into the bodice, but that would be "it", I fear.  He's better off having a snood made out of it....or wearing it as a cape.

That said, he could wave it at a bull in Mexico or Spain.

Some whack-job on the TV is ranting and  raving about how women are ruining the Superbowl. He says no women really care about it - it should be for men only.  He then railed about all the commercials because they were geared to women's products like underwear and shampoo. It was curious to hear him declaim how men don't want to watch women's dumb undie commercials like Victoria Secret. (Just where is this line of of all-American men objecting to Victoria Secret commercials - the closest thing to soft-porn on Network TV)

der Brucer

Even tho I'm not a big football fan, I usually watch the superbowl because it is a national news event - now I need a reason to favor one team over the other!

Hmmmm....the Patriots represent all of New England EXCEPT New York.  Does that work for you?

I ended my afternoon of viewing by watching the first quarter of last night's SUPERNATURAL. The show started late, so I'm going to miss the end of the episode. I may have to ask DR Ron Pulliam to fill me in on the ending since I know he watches SUPERNATURAL.

Well, either Dean saves his brother or his brother saves Dean, and both survive for another new episode the next week!    Grin

You have a DS named Bryan?  I have been away a while!

Well, she didn't "just" have him.   Grin

He's all growed up now and ready to be a responsible adult.

DR TCB - Well, I'll get by with a little help from my friends.  Smiley

I'm sorry slingstraw, but there's NO WAY I can help you fit into that dress.  I wouldn't even know how to stary trying.

Thank you Singdaw.  I'm more excited by the minute, and so very relieved to have the pressure off.

Mothers!

Well, I think my work here is done for the night!

Time now to turn my eye toward a little bit of TV and then off to dreamland (ooh! ooh! A Sondheim reference, lame though it be).

Are see-through envelopes a new thing by non-profit organizations when trying to invite people to charity events and such?  I wonder whether, since you can see what's inside the envelope, most people are more likely to open them or even less likely to open them.  I was sort of intrigued the first two times I got them - but I wonder if they'll become old hat pretty quickly.

I think the vellum envelopes are being to used to suggest a hint of "class" and "luxury".  And most likely cheaper than having a 4-color insert/flyer printed up.

*Vellum envelopes are also stronger, and can make it through mail sorting machines with less wear and tear than normal paper envelopes.

Well, as much as I would like to be here for the turning of the day, as well as a possible Page 14, I really am sleepy, and need to get to bed...

Goodnight.
