Well, you've read the notes, the notes were fresh and ripe, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently eating their vegetables.

Just finished reading "Find Me" by Carol O'Connell. Has anybody here read anything in her Mallory series?

Sunday morning greetings!  Sorry to have left rather abruptly yesterday, but my aunt called, saying she was "distraught."  I drove to the hospital wondering if she'd received some bad news or something.  No, she was just lonely and impatient.  We had to wait for a doctor to see her and order one more blood test.  Then we had to wait for the results of that test and all the paperwork required for a release.  I got home a little after 8pm.

The upside to yesterday was that I got to experience our new hospital under non-crisis (to me, anyway) circumstances.  My aunt's room was on the 4th floor with a spectacular view to the south that included DR Elmore's father's house.

Oh, and I'm up early this morning to accompany DH Richard to church in Cincinnati.  Maybe we can have the date this afternoon that we had to cancel last night.  We were going to go see the National Treasure movie, which has had awful reviews but was billed in our paper as "dumb fun."  Works for me.

Back in time for the Super Bowl.

Good morning!

I ws awakened at 6 by our 2 bed kitties, and so it was a good opportuity to catch up on the last 4 or 5 days of posts.

No sooner did I get home than I jumped into a frenzy of work. I mananged to have a few moments of play, too, but I feel very tired.

I have to work today, too!

Friday night I left work a bit early and met up with our old book club to see Shakespeare's  A TWELFTH NIGHT, at our Shakespeare tavern.

The artistic director and his wife were members of our book club, but people started running out of time to read and then out of time to host a gathering, so it dissolved. But we still get together occasionally.

The tavern, which is huge and serves things like Shepherd's Pie and cornish pasties, was packed to the gills, and the audence was roaring with laughter. It was certainly the best live Shakespeare I've ever seen, even including the Globe in London. (Jeff, the artistic director, and his players, performed in the very first production at Lonon's Globe.)

I can't believe I've never gone there before, but I certainly wil be going again!

Although I had to work on Saturday, my client and I took a break to go to a baby shower for our friends, Bret and Joe. These guys have been togethr a long time and have been trying to adopt a baby for the last few years. Well, it finally happened, very quickly, too! Out of the blue, a baby was put up for adoption in Texas, so they brought him home!

We didn't get to meet him yet, because the doctor advised against having him in crowds of people, especially with children, until his immune system develops more. But we had a slide show with lots of pictures of him and the happy daddies.

The fathers are two of my favorite people, and I think this is going to be one lucky baby! Seeing them with all the other kids at the party, I think they will make great parents.

The host for the shower was the creative director who I've been working for on all this TLC stuff. He had caterers and my client and i got to pick out the food they would serve. It was all delish, and I think we will be seeing more of it at work today...

After work last night, my DH arranged for some friends to come over and we took them out to dinner. They are our closest friends in Msrietta and one of the reasons it was hard to leave. But hearing them talk about all the politics in that town made up glad once again that we left.

We went to dinner at a nearby reaturant tucked back behind a stirp mall. I had noticed it once when I had parked back there, but you owuld never know from the street that it was there. It's called the Georgia Grill, which sounds like a place you'd go to watch a football game. It was actually named after Georgia O'Keefe and had some southwest inspiration and paintings of Georgia and a few other artists.

It was rather expensive but very yummy!
