DR Danise, I was just thinking about you today...and here you are!

I wonder if that would work with George Clooney?

George Clooney?  Wouldn't you rather try for Lex Barker?

I am actually getting pretty good at changing the bandage on my arm by myself.  It is a little tough when you have to use latex gloves, but I am doing better.  No Boy Scout merit badge, but still presentable.

BK - your message was delivered by hand to the heavenly Judy Kaye; I'm so pleased that I finally got to meet her and chat with her!  She sincerely hopes that she gets to see you when she gets back to L.A.  She is enjoying life on the road, but says that Mondays are the pits.
SWEENEY was what I expected it to be; I'm not at all impressed with Mr. Doyle's concept, but Judy's Mrs. Lovett issublime.  David Hess (not the Hess from LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT) is a very good Sweeney.
Alas, I didn't get any good pictures at the stage door, but, I did get a couple of shots for DR DearReaderLaura. . .

For specially interested DR MBarnum, last night I watched Shikhar an excellent drama starring that lovely Mr. Kapoor and a "friendly appearance" by John Abraham.

I really enjoyed CLOVERFIELD; it's a BLAIR WITCH monster film abut several young folk caught up in an attack on Manhattan, and very interestingly managed.

So, I'm back at Toyland, where I will now pack up my computer and tote it home.

Ta!

That's another one of those Paramount films I'll be dealing with in a few months.

Well, I did as I said I was going to do and watched MONTY PYTHON'S LIFE OF BRIAN. Still makes me laugh unroariously, just as much as the first time I saw it when I had to cross a picket line here in order to get into the theater.

The Blu-ray disc was gorgeous, by far the best I've ever seen this film look and that includes at the theater. There was also a Doly True HD 5.1 audio track that had some great sounds I had never heard before attached to the movie.

There was an hour "making of" documentary on the movie contained on the disc, and I watched that as well. Very interesting stories of how they wrote it, how they got financing only to have it fall through and then to have George Harrison finance the whole movie himself ($4 million). He's certainly gotten his money back many times over. All the stories of the protests in the US and England were also in the documentary. Really very interesting.

Then, I went back to SOUL FOOD and watched 5 more episodes. I am now on disc 4 with 8 more episodes to go.

I did discover that what Paramount is calling the third season on the disc is actually seasons three and four - 10 episodes each. Once I got to the second half of the episodes, there was a definite change in tone; the show have become much more melodramatic than the fitst 10. Hopefully, I'll get through most of all of them tomorrow before my prime time shows start at 9 tomorrow night.

Since the Super Bowl was continuing their after show interviews and presentations past the time when HOUSE was supposed to start, I just set the DVR to record the next three things on the evening schedule and I flipped over to THE CLOSER on TNT-HD.

They were rerunning that two hour episode that ended Season Two with Brenda basically doing undercover work for the first hour before getting her job back. I've watched the episode many times on DVD, but this is only the second time I've seen it in HD, so I enjoyed the first part of it again.

I'm just catching up on the posts now.  But i just got home from a Super Bowl party (so i haven't read the Super Bowl posts yet). But wow!

There were a bunch of very disappointed people. And some happy ones.

Let me just say the first 3 quarters were quite boring. But the 4th quarter was so exciting! I cannot believe the ending!

As for the commercials, they weren't too exciting.

But i think my favorites were:

1.the pepsi one with the bob-heads.

2.the basketball player jockey.

There were a few stupid ones that all the guys laughed hysterically at.

There were a few other good ones. But i need to see the titles to remember which ones i liked.

I'm just not in the mood to watch a DVD so I watched the extras on the new In The Heat Of The Night Special Edition - they are anything but special.  I'm making an LP transfer of the Israeli Hello, Dolly!

The funniest part of the evening (at the SuperBowl party) was that my 2 year old niece won the final pool (she had giants ending in 7, patriots ending in 4).

So tomorrow she will get to choose $25 of books (her choice) from her little school book club.  I can't wait to see what she chooses! Should be funny!

I can't really believe that the Giants won.  The Patriots were on such a streak. And they had a few plays that were so close (almost tackled eli, the guy with the long hair almost intercepted)...

Crazy.  And that Giant's catch over his helmet near the end was AMAZING.

New York must be going crazy.

The wall paper is in the men's room of the Renaissance Hotel, I could show you more pictures, but this is a family site!

BK - I'm not sure, but I think that Ms. Kaye's escort tonight was her son. . .

Good evening, dear readers!

I just got back from my mom's...I took a side trip on the way home to drop off my copy of SECONDS to our Marietta friends (they forgot it when they left after dinner last night.)

The spaghetti was wonderful, as usual. There were 4 birthdays being celebrated: Greg's, mine, my mom's partner's son, who I consider my step-brother, and my cousin Fred, who shares Ben's groundhog birthday. Fred goes to Punxatawney every year, and he took an early flight home to be with us. Much cake and ice cream was consumed, and that's all we've had to eat today. Now that we're home, we both feel a little hungry but don't feel like going out for something.

Thanks to Jane, Jose, Miss K (nice to see you 'round here!) T-Punk, Ron, Tomovoz, Vixmom (LOVE the passed out kitty---I didn't know there was a hidden camera in my house!) George, Adrianna, Der B, Kerry, and anyone else I didn't catch earlier, for all the wonderful birthday wishes. You make this a very special day for me, and I have 3 minutes left to enjoy it!

While I was at our friends' house, the halftime show came on so I stayed and watched it, and ended up watching the wohle game with them, our architect, and Greg, who finished making cables and met us over there.

No one there was interested in football in the least, and we were all trying to explain how the game was working with what little knowledge we had. If you combined the footbal knowledge comtained in all our brains, it might add up to sort of a semi-normal person's knowledge.
