Would you accept Chowsie?

I think he should play Caroline, the moo cow.

I thought the girl from AMERICAN IDOL who sang the National Anthem did a wonderful job.  It didn't top Whitney, but it was damn good.

That was pre-game, though....not halftime.

DR CILLA LIZ we will want a complete EVITA report.

DR JMK - I first noticed Mr James Callahan when he played an assistant to Mr Dan Dailey in the series THE GOVERNOR AND JJ, costarring Neva Patterson and Julie Sommars.

Like DR MATTH - I think the Criterion DVD's have some great extras.  The documentary on A NIGHT TO REMEMBER about the making of the movie was interesting and fun to watch.

20th Century-Fox's TITANIC also had some interesting extras including a great photo gallery.

I liked the interviews about Jane Frohman on the WITH A SONG IN MY HEART DVD that came out this year!

And MOVE OVER DARLING had some of the original Marilyn Monroe footage from SOMETHING'S GOT TO GIVE.

I thought that James Callahan died last summer or maybe even spring?
I thought so, too becaues I still thought of him as the young ladies man on "Wendy and Me" and not as the father or whatever he played on something like "Charles in Charge."

Yes, that is usually when they sing the National Anthem.  I was just making a personal observation about the day in general.

Last time I was in Phoenix I was amazed at how many things have been torn down and something else built there since I left in 1992.  I ddin't recognize a lot of places where I used to spend a lot of time. It made me a little uneasy

How do you think I feel when I drive by a corner I've lived by all my life and suddenly couldn't tell which city I'm in?!  A few of us have an alert system going when we run across some building torn down or replaced (or orchards cemented over).   It keeps us from crashing into an intersection tht we used to know like the backs of our hands.

I'm exhausted.  I finished seven pages, finished the penultimate chapter and am now onto what should be the final chapter - it will be twice the length of the other chapters, but since the other chatpers are purposely short, that won't be too big a deal.

Woody, you were mentioning, the other day. the PBS production of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC with Sally Ann Howe.  I think I still have a video of it around here somewhere.  It has a couple of jumps in it, where my roommate attempted to tape over it, but basically the majority of it is there. I wonder if I can locate that video?

(I could've won a million dollars...) I had a feeling I'd be hearing from you, DR derBrucer  :-*

Yes, yes, you've got the facts on your side, BUT the reality check is:

A. I was not that in love with Ralph Nadar but voted for him because if the Green party had gotten a certain percentage of votes (it was like 6 or 10, or somewhere around there), it would have been eligible for some of that campaign dinero -- and then the monopoly held by the Demos and Repubs might have been cracked and America might actually have been on the road to true democractic elections -- and a true three, four, five. etc., party system in the future. (But instead I got burned in two ways -- the Green Party didn't get the percentage and Gore didn't get a bunch of those Green Party votes that otherwise he would have...) Sure, there are all kinds of parties out there and occasionally a Libertarian gets elected, but the reality of it is, America is a two-party system (that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!) by design, by intent, by historical maneuvering, and by the money factor. So I can be quoted all the facts out there, but I know in my heart it's still a two-party system......

You forgot to mention, DR Miss K, that both the Democratic and Repubican parties are mutatable - whenever a truly viable third alternative crops up, one or the other of the two top parties manage to absorb the philosophies into their own.  Which is why no third party lasts as a player in elections for more than one Presidential election cycle.

To A: Yes, we have what is essentially a two party system. And it slikely to so remain because, based on history, a soon as a counter-movemnet gains any traction, their main positions are incorporated into one or other of the main parties - positions from the left (like many of those from the early socialists) get aborbed into the Democrat Party, positions from the right (like many of those from the Libertarians), into the Republican Party. Since both parties modify themselves to address popular positions, they are likely to be around for a while. Democracies like France and Italy that have suffered under the varies of a multi-party system envy the stability the the US and Great Britain enjoy with their two party sytems.

No...nor the other film mentioned, either.   The discussion was about commentaries, not about BK-directed films.

And just look at  our two Democratic Republicans Arnold Schwarzenegger and John McCain.

Lines are being blurred everywhere.

Barack Obama has convinced many people he can bring about "change".   He doesn't say how  he's going to do it, and he doesn't have any track record of ever having done it.  But he's using  the placebo effect of soothing words to make McCain look more and more like the man to vote for when Obama gets the Democratic nomination.

Add to the above that Schwarzenegger has come out and declared he's backing McCain's candidacy, and it's a win-win situation for them
