My lips seem to be as dry as the Sahara.  I'm applying Blistex like crazy...   :P

Try some Olive Oil.

What we found interesting was the total lack of Cirie last night.  Was she off hiding from leaves or something?  ;)

I think Cirie has a clue that she could be gone most quickly if she displays any 'tude.

She was one of my least favorites in her season.

That said, I Googled the new season and at one site, this was the "breakdown" on Cirie:

FROM SEASON 12 (PANAMA):
Cirie Fields, 37, couch potato, fearer of leaves.

LOL!

$75 for tickets to LIL ABNER...whew! That seems like a lot....but if you do decide to go BK, let me know. I think most of my evenings are open except Thursday and a dinner date on Saturday...although the time has yet to be decided and it could end up being lunch instead of dinner.

I must now check to see what other evening entertainments are going on next week in L.A.

'Survivor' SPOILER

SURVIVOR SPOILER
I still have no idea what actually happened last night. Because it seemed like ozzy./james/parv/amanda would vote out eliza. So did they realize johnny fairplay was manipulating him (i hated how he told the other team their plans). Or did he (johnny) actually end up really wanting to go. They never explained that.

They (CBS) do leave us in the dark much of the time, but I guess it's because they want the final vote results to be as much of a surprise as possible.

It was illuminating, though, to see that EVERYone voted for Jonny.  Jonny cast his vote for Ozzy.

Oy--I will be reviewing a 14 disc History Channel set of America at War.  Can't we all just get along?  ;)

Looked at that line-up of stage productions in LA and the only one that really sounded interesting was DRIVING MISS DAISY starring Michael Learned (the mom on LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE)...but it was all the way down in La Mirada and I don't want to make that trek at night.

I wonder if any other old time TV stars are doing anything on stage next week? I must find out.

Since we occasionally discuss politics here, thought it might be worth mentioning this handy-dandy one-stop resource for checking up on candidates, votes, positions, issues, and ballot measures, plus information on voter registration.  It appears to be non-partisan, from what I can tell...

Thank you.  I was looking for a handy-dandy site.  I browse it later.

I thought you were SO looking forward to "Lost"?   ???

I was...and am.  But I was so tired I knew I couldn't appreciate it.  I'll give it my full attention once I'm rested.

I believe I'm up.  I'm not sure if I feel better or not, but I'd gotten up a couple of times in the middle of the night to use the baffroom (all that liquid), and I thought I was going to pass out each time - really dizzy.  That didn't happen this morning, so that's a good sign.  I think I pulled a few muscles in my back from the dry heave episode, and I don't exactly have an appetite, but I think I might be a LITTLE better.

It's Friday before a four-day-weekend- two-day-work-week-four-day-weekend run for me.

That's right....two four-day weekends interrupted by two workdays.

You'll miss going in to work, you know you will.

Bruce, Saltines often make me feel worse & 7 Up needs to be taken a sip at a time, no less than in 10 minute intervals.

Try the dry toast this morning & feel better soon.

I have nothing for the TOD: I don't know if I will have time to watch anything this weekend as I prepare to fly off to the glamour capital of the world, Burbank Los Angeles
Watch it, fella!  I was born and raised in Burbank Los Angeles!

I totally agree re: SURVIVOR! I cringed whenever JF was on the screen. Ugh and blech!

And one of BIG BROTHER'S contestants is a coffee barista from Salem, Oregon! She works at the coffee stand over on Mission Street where all the baristas wear bikinis.

She must get awfully cold in February.

TOD:

Books:

Still working my way through Rulhman's Elements of Cooking.

Almost finished with Shapiro's Something From the Oven.

And I've started perusing Francoise Bernard & Alain Ducasse's Good Cuisine.  Two of France's best cooks, the first a food writer and advocate for the home cook, the second a Michelin star-winner and restaurant snob, duke it out.  They've got four recipes between them for escargot.  Go figure the French.

No male baristas, huh?  Takes a lot of the fun out of drinking coffee.
