I also checked out some of the transfers in the new Stanley Kramer box - definitely improved transfers of Ship Of Fools (finally in its correct ratio), Guess Who's Coming To Dinner, and most importantly Dr. T - the last transfer wasn't too bad, but this is sharper, it's been totally cleaned of dirt, and the color is improved.  Plus, there are now extras on all films.

Woweee Zoweee! Now that's news that's worth waking up for!

This day isn't locked, so I feel empowered writing in it, like I have gone back in time, or altered reality in some way.

I have been working on an idea for a Closer shoot, because my two producers have to present an idea on Monday and had no ideas that they liked.

They are looking for a song to use like the "Ain't No Sunshine" one they did last year. Of course, that spot was done by the boys' supervisor, who likes to take all the money and glory. She is now convinced that it has to be a song from that era to speak to the Closer's 50 year old woman demo. But I think that is really pigeon-holing their audience.

Anyway, although it's not the "iconic" song they're looking for, I wrote a treatment based on the Madonna song, "Sooner or Later", with lyrics by Sondheim (from DICK TRACY).

Sooner or later you're gonna be mine,
Sooner or later you're gonna be fine.
Baby, it's time that you face it,
I always get my man.

Sooner or later you're gonna decide,
Sooner or later there's nowhere to hide.
Baby, it's time, so why waste it in chatter?
Let's settle the matter.

Baby, you're mine on a platter,
I always get my man.

But if you insist, babe, the challenge delights me.
The more you resist, babe, the more it excites me.
And no one I've kissed, babe, ever fights me again.
If you're on my list, it's just a question of when.

When I get a yen, then baby, Amen.
I'm counting to ten, and then ...

I'm gonna love you like nothing you've known,
I'm gonna love you, and you all alone.
Sooner is better than later but lover,
I'll hover, I'll plan.

This time I'm not only getting, I'm holding my man.

We're limited to just using Brenda, and we can't use the set and she might not even be in LA. Boy, talk about limitations

Oh, I forgot to mention...JK Simmons, who plays Brenda's boss, is excellent in JUNO.

OK, I'm going to alter reality again, and pop into today!

I assume that Singdaw's Seussian frenzy can be attributed to the Dr. T re-release.

I have to keep an eye out for the next Border's box set coupon!
