Time to walk the dog.

NOT a euphemism.

Thanks for the clarification. ;)

Anybody had a tune running rampant through your mind until you just wanna scream?

"The Little Light of Mine (I'm Gonna Let it Shine!)"

That song probably would've gotten stuck in my head, if it weren't for the fact that I'm listening to the Swedish cast recording of Mamma Mia!. ;)

Just had to share.

We only attended one performance there. It was the world premiere of "HOPPER" - and the lead mezzo plays the majority of the second act wearing less than the chorus girls in The First Nudie Musical.

der Brucer

Do they have a female equivalent of "Just For Men" to rid milady's pudenda of grey?

Correction - Hopper was a single act.  Fewer walk-outs that way.

 :P

(As it was, there were just three in the cast - two women and a man.  One woman was nude much of the time, the other fully clothed, and the man stripped down to his boxers and "wife-beater" for a long solo.  And if he'd worn even less than that, the show would still have been a horrid bore.)

And if she looks, she'll see our Golden Circle (or whatever they call it) plaque on the wall - the only professed gay couple on the list!

der Brucer
By way of explanation, as a major contributor at the time we got a plaque on the lobby wall of the theater with both our names on it.  It may still be up.  It may not.  Who knows.

I'm at my sister's now. She is sick. My brother-in-law is sick. ...I'm hesitant to go in her room. Since they are laughing so hard and having so much fun together.
Must be telling sick jokes.

It's just the angle of the light striking my head!

Yeah, sure.  Every pet store has pink gels on the lighting to make the customers look prettier.

Thank you for your concern, Ron, but those kind of connections are still forbidden by my doctor due to the MRSA infection.

Dinner tonight will be a pork tenderloin (commercially marinated -  :-\), with mashed taters and mushroom gravy, and something I haven't tried before, braised Belgian endive.

DR JRand, I'm not sure I mentioned that.  I shared the story with Keith, my in house genealogist.

Ho Penny.

I must be tired.  I thought you said that Keith was your in house gynecologist.

I sang that at church as part of my children's story on Sunday. I wonder if maybe that was the cause of Kerry's problem.

As do we; just hope is previous owners don't come looking for him - the cat people insisted I take down all the "Found" posters, bcasue JJ will no longer be retrievable  - once he enters their system they loose track of individual cats.

Well, now we have our very own emergency cat rescue kit: a supply of canned food, litter box, litter-supply, litter scoop, litter mat, cat-toys, cat safety collar.

der Brucer

Or, you could just go around the neighborhood and steal them!

Inferentially, if they don't return him, he has been adopted (or tested positive for Leukemia and/or AIDS in which case he will be put down).

That doesn't mean he should be put down.  He could go into a home without another cat, or with other cats that also tested positive.  I am shocked they said that.

Here at Panera.  I have figured out how to deal with the horrendous traffic and it works very well - ignore it and relax.  I have been close to giving myself a heart attack for the last two days - but today, I just relaxed and the drive was the drive (about ten minutes shorter than yesterday) and it's all fine and dandy.

Is PetSmart supposed to put a warning label on the cat adoption pen?

And if they did, what are the chances of that cat getting adopted?

"No-Kill" is a dream, but it is not necessarily attainable.  There are animals that pose serious health risks, to themselves, to other animals, and to the humans that care for them.  At some point, practicality has to enter into the formula.  Sorry, that's just how I see it.

I could never foster animals. I wouldn't trust anyone to take care of them as well as I do and would end up with a house full

When "Shadow" (a feral cat) had kittens in our back yard in 1998, we would have been stuck with four kittens if we hadn't been able to foster them and let them go. We were fortunate we found a place that let us do that.

Most cat shelters have separate rooms to house a cat that tested positive.  There are also false positives, so often the test is re-done.  A perfectly healthy cat that tests positive can live a long time without ever displaying symptoms of the disease.

PetSmart should have explained this to you and what other options you have before agreeing to their outdated mode of dealing with cats that test positive.  At the least they could have given you the option to take him back if he tests positive.

Of course, the fostering group sent other kittens home for us to foster after Shadow's were adopted.  Eventually, we ended up with a couple of rejects.
