Yesterday the sweet Singdaw was ready to slash someone's tires and today he went into a mini-rant.

Maybe I'm just feeling paricularly temerarious?    8)

I don't get the hate for Jason Yeager on IDOL. Yes, I guess he's too white bread for the judges (but they DID pick him after all), but there's a purity and lilt in his voice that I rather like. His song last night was not worthy of the scathing pans it received, especially since the Johns guy who opened the show was very off pitch on many of the higher notes and didn't get put in his place for a really poor performance.

Today I'll be watching a made-for-DVD movie called SOUTH PARK IMAGINATIONLAND. It features the raunchy South Park characters, and runs 65 minutes, so it should be a fairly fun way to pass an hour or so.

I'll also be finishing BLADE RUNNER on Blu-ray disc.

Tonight, while IDOL is recording, I'll watch the last CHARLIE CHAN in the most recent set.

I'm not sure if I mentioned it yesterday, but I did skim AS THE WORLD TURNS yesterday. Luke and Noah weren't on, but they were in the previews for today's show. Looks like Noah is going to see his dad in prison.

I guess I just feel bad for him because he's being penalized for not being edgier, rawer, more soulful, etc. He reminds me of John Davidson, not a great, inventive vocalist but a solid middle-of-the-road singer.

Perhaps--and you have every right! ;)

I was feeling out of sorts and not myself last week--a strange week, indeed--and now when I hear these very uncharacteristic remarks from you, Sing, well, I just think something is amiss.

Heading down now to check the mail, straighten up a few things in other parts of the house (I cleaned the den this morning before coming upstairs), and then think about what I'm going to fix for lunch.

If yuo have a chance, my second article - this one about the Handel RADAMISTO played by Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra on authentic period instruments with countertenors this weekend - is up on www.FineArtsLA.com -- And I get free tickets to hear it. Nice gig!!!

Just yesterday, I got another awesome gig - I'm Music Director for a production of Complete Stage Beauty (the play from which the move Stage Beauty, with Billy Crudup was made), opening mid-April and playing through late May in West LA - nice little old theater, on Pico Blvd just west of La Brea - near enough BK's and my old neighborhood to have me waxing nostalgic, if not my car.

So, I'm putting together a small ensemble - probably just harpsichord, cello, two fiddles, with me on recorders - to play some Purcell and Blow. I even get to sing Dido's Lament!!! at the end of Act 1. Hoping to also play Mistress of Revels - but that may not happen.

Yes, ***CROWN VIBES*** to DR Ron Pulliam...

If it will suffice, I'm happy to contribute this tiara from my own personal collection:

Sadly, the coronation was a bust.

The crown will need to be attended to (i.e. no contact on one side).  I will return to my dentist's office tomorrow afternoon at 4.

Dearest, darlingest DR PennyO! How I do miss you in Manhattan.  You, Handel, Blow and Purcell; it's a frightening combo and I wish I were there to observe.

I dread dental work - not about any pain or the needles or the poking around (well, that, too) but the interminable repeat visits. I lost a large, old filling in a back molar last year - and still haven't made the first of many appointments to deal with it...

Yeah, I miss you too, ol' buddy. Yes, anything with the words handle and blow seems to be of interest to this ol' broad these daze...

So... Since things tend to go in cycles...

Shall we start a pool on when and what kind of animal will find DRs DerBrucer and SWW next?  Another cat? dog? guinea pig? ;)

Thanks, DR PennyO!   :)

Ah, if I only had a dime for every time I've heard a parody lyric for When I Am Laid...   I could retire now!

Perhaps you could use one of them for your performances?  ;)
