As for today's auditions...

First the Good News:

Today's "Gimme, Gimme" (Thoroughly Modern Millie not Mamma Mia!) count: 0 (?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?)  :)

The Bad News:

"Not For The Life Of Me" (Thoroughly Modern Millie): 4 (maybe 5, since I may blocked it out.  Alas, there was one group where two girls sang it - with only one other auditionee between them.  However...

The Good News:

"And They're Off" (A New Brain) was sung a few times today.  -I love playing it.

The Bad News:

Two gentlemen ended up singing it back to back at the beginning of the afternoon session.

-However, they both sang it well.  :)

But how many sang a great song like THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X?

Have you seen/toured the choo-choo?

I did the Choo Choo last time I was here.  And once was enough. ;)

Well... Um...  I'm not playing the high school auditions this year, but, apparently, the "show choir syndrome" has been a continual problem for that division.  Can you say, "big gesture"?  ;)

BIG G E S T U R E!!!  and exaggerated expressions, please!  :P

STEROID VIBES FOR DD MISS BLUE MOON!

Blue says thanks, DR JANE.  She is sleeping comfortably in her doggie house on fresh new straw that has been pounded down and distributed with loving hands, and rearranged by four paws.  ;D

Re:  Gary McFarland.  Back in my wasted yout', I used to invite Jehovah's Witnesses in to my house for little debates on scripture.  Now I am not a doctor of philosophy or anything, but with my, shall we say, eclectic religious upbringing, coupled with my knowledge of Hebrew and at that time Classical Greek (which I was studying as part of my Masters), I was a smartypants and liked watching the JWs squirm as I pointed out various inconsistencies in scripture.  All of which went out the window one day when one of them came in, saw all my music lying around and heard a McFarland LP (remember those?) playing (which he recognized), and told me he knew Gary and would introduce me if only I came to Kingdom Hall (or whatever it's called) with him.  I declined.   ;D

That reminds me of my friend in DC who lives in Dupont Circle - basically D.C.'s Gay Central - who would always invite the cute Mormon boys that would go from door-to-door in his neighborhood into his apartment to "talk" with them.  My friend was/is a preacher's son, so he was always able to have fairly heated and equal debates with them.  In fact, he thinks he was put on some special list, since there was a time where he was visited five times in a two month period!  ;)

Elmore, was that another half-nude photo of MBarnum?

At first I thought it was Mikey and Chooster.  But his face isn't shiney enough.

Matthew Morrison is on GHOST WHISPERER tonight.  It's a very funny episode in its amorality.

I agree with George.  Let Brent play Arthur.  Hell, then put Sebastian LaCause in as Lancelot; and I will play Guinevere!

You just want to polish his codpiece.  ;)

-Although, Sebastian is currently out in San Diego doing Dancing In The Dark (a.k.a. the new stage version of "The Band Wagon").

Do i recall correctly from one of my D.C. trips that Dupont Circle was at times affectionately called Bouffant Circle or Dippity-Doo-pont Circle or such names?

And speaking of the weather...

We're expecting a fairly large number of cancellations tomorrow due to the snow "events" that are affecting the Ohio Valley right now.  A lot of people are also supposed to fly out tomorrow morning, and since they're connecting through either Memphis or Cincinatti, well...  We shall see.

-I just hope things are back to "normal" by the time I fly back on Sunday.

I realize I tend to be oblivious to things like this, but I completely missed the fact-even after you told me. ???-LOL.  I loved staying in Dupont Circle.  I know a lovely straight couple who live there.  If Craig moves to DC (it's looking like he will) they raved about the area to him.

Are you sure things haven't changed & the area is for anyone?;D

It has been so long since my injured foot and ankle hurt I thought I was cured.  Today I returned to jogging, not much and it was on the soft flat trail.  Now the arch of my foot really hurts.  DANG!

There's a rumor the "25 years later" movie sequel to THE LAST STARFIGHTER is on track.  I don't know what this would mean for Skip and my musical, but it could only potentially help us, not hurt - imdb lists the movie sequel as anticipated for a 2010 release, though.

However, Dupont is for everyone - especially with all the new condos going up there.  However, the real estate prices there are some of the most expensive in the city - condos normally start around $1.2 Million(!) now.

Seriously, friends, we are a great group of people (even the lurkers, or most of them) at this site; so if you haven't already marked this site as a favorite,

http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/

please do so now.  It only takes about a minute each day to go through the animal rescue, the breast cancer, the hunger foundation, the rain forest, and I am forgetting one or two........  It is so easy, and it does so much good!  Please!

Blake Shelton from that CLASH OF THE CHOIRS TV contest show (I think his team came in third) is the special guest on Paula Dean's show PAULA'S PARTY.

Paula Dean asked Blake Shelton why he named his album "PURE B.S." and he explained that those are his initials.  Funny moment, but maybe you had to be there.

Well, tomorrow morning I have to get up at 5:30 and pretend that I'm going to work.  Those of us scheduled for tomorrow were told today that we would not be notified by phone if there's a delay or closing.  So, I'll go through the motions until either it's announced that we're closed or I sacrifice another vacation day.

'night!

I seriously doubt Craig will be able to afford a place in Dupont.  I think with his dog he might prefer an area that is less crowded.

Don't worry, Jane, I am sure there are a lot of gentlemen who would be happy to rent a room to Craig! ::)
