When I got in, I noticed that I had gotten the DVR to catch a Starz! showing of CUJO, so I watched that this afternoon.

I haven't seen the film since it came out in the theater and I reviewed it. Never read the book, but it certainly seemed faithful to a story King would have written during that era. Daniel-Hugh Kelly was some kind of beautiful as the cuckold husband. What a gorgeous body he had!

I skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. No Luke or Noah, but they were on the previews for tomorrow.

I finished the afternoon watching the last quarter hour of LAW & ORDER, a riff on the O.J. Simpson "If I Killed Her" book brouhaha with Bobby Cannavalle playing O.J.

I got a box from Amazon today, and I was SO hoping that it was the Musicals box. Alas, it was the Fox/Bette Davis set; good but I'd rather have had the other one. I just watched THE VIRGIN QUEEN on the Fox Movie Channel a few months ago, so I'm not ready for another viewing of it yet. Not in the mood for ALL ABOUT EVE or SWEET CHARLOTTE, so I guess I'll go Blu-ray/HD-DVD tonight. Don't know what yet.

The kid dies in the book.

Wow! Thanks for the info.

That poor dog in the film must have had every brand of ketchup, mustard, and relish smeared on him as the film progressed to simulate his rabies.

You bet I have. No one was a more faithful repeat caller for Clay Aiken, Elliot Yamin, and Melinda Dolittle than I was. Didn't help them win, but each got close.

Many times I was texting 200-400 votes per week for each of them in their seasons.

Thanks DRs Jose and RonP.

DR RonP, the reason i was searching HHW for the vermicelli. Is because i liked how i made it last time (and that was DR Jose's suggestion).

I just read that Stanley Kamal, who played Monk's psychiatrist, has died.

So sad about that. He was a regular on one of the first soap operas I ever watched as a college student, and I've always liked him.

Too young to leave us!

Heading down now to clean the den, and then I'll get back to viewing. I may just rewatch ENCHANTED on Blu-ray. The other two times I was taking notes. This would be just for fun and enjoyment.

Say the question again, MBarnum.  I shall now be on my way to the Heim of Ana.  There's yet another accident on my usual route, so it's another slog through downtown.

DR Ben - I'll be curious to hear how Daniel Reichard does as Candide.

I'd love to see this...that Daniel is such a cutie! ;)

JRand, I forgot to mention but my DH and I did light a candle Monday night (3 actually) and sat out on the back porch, listening to the owls, looking at the moon and thinking of you and Miss Blue Moon.

That is so sweet and beautiful.

Search HWW or Jose's posts?  I find I can't search farther back than 500 posts.  Can anyone do an "all" search?

Well, back on November 20, 2007, there were these posts:

Okay i just went to get them. This is what it says:

Longkou Vermicelli.  Yes it has strings around it tying it up. It is in a plastic bag.

The ingredients do not seem right. It says: green beans, broad beans, peas, water.

Keep dry.

But there is no indication of how to cook it (which i find very odd). I was thinking you cook them like noodles. But for less time. but maybe not.

A lot of Asian/Oriental foodstuffs have no cooking directions on them.  You're just supposed to know.    In any case...

Just give them a good rinse and brief soak until they are pliable before you proceed with your dish.

Thanks. So you think they are rice vermicelli? as opposed to noodle vermicelli?

So basically i could soak them and then put them in a wok with other ingredients?

You have "bean threads".  They will cook up "clear" rather than "white" like rice sticks do.

And, yes, after the rinse and soak, you just add them to the wok with the other ingredients.
