THE BODICE RIPPER

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were ripping, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently reading The Randy Vicar and the Slinky.

Here's the meal I had.  From left to right: Cheesy PotatoCakes, 1/4 Rotisserie Chicken, Parmesan Zucchini Spears.  I didn't realize that the zucchini was going to be breaded and deep-fried - I really didn't plan to have that much "brown" on my plate.

*And that biscuit is about the size of a hockey-puck.  Needless to say, since I was saving room for the dessert, I did not clean my plate.  ;)

And speaking of dessert...

Our waitress suggested the side of ice cream since the cake was "really rich".  However, the cake itself was actually on the light side - at least the cake part of it.  Additionally, the frosting was not globbed on in an inch-thick layer like a lot of places do lately, so it wasn't cloyingly sweet either.  However, it was still six layers of cake and frosting.  BK and Adriana made it through half a layer, and I made it through two layers.  The rest is currently sitting in the fridge here in it's custom box from the Claim Jumper.

And here's another view of the Chocolate Motherlode Cake:

-All in all, it's actually not a bad dessert deal.  A slice is only $9.95.  That would easily go for $20 in NYC... Or downtown L.A. ;)

OH!

While I was walking around Union Station yesterday, it turned out that "CSI: NY" was filming there...

*I've been to the MetroNorth station in Poughkeepsie, and, well... That's definitely not Poughkeepsie.  ;)

While I was walking around Union Station yesterday...

And did you rest a bit?

A bench in Union Square station that city officials say are possibly infested with bed bugs.

SUBWAYS' BLOOD-BUG INVASION

May 8, 2008 --

Don't let the bedbugs swipe!

The blood-sucking insects aren't just living with New Yorkers at home - they're on the subways, too, according to one of the city's leading bedbug authorities.

At a recent Department of Housing, Preservation and Development forum on the subject, a city bedbug educator admitted to seeing the pests on benches in subway stations - in one case, catching a ride on an unsuspecting straphanger's caboose at Brooklyn's Hoyt-Schermerhorn station, according to people at the meeting.

The official, identified as Edward Brownbear, also reported seeing the bugs on wooden benches at the Union Square and Fordham Road stations in Manhattan and The Bronx, respectively

Well... That report doesn't surprise.  However, my big "bug worry" about the subways are the spiders.  I've actually been bitten twice on my legs. Ouch!  :-\

Well, a good portion of the "real estate" on that plate was taken up by the garnish of kale, so.. ;)
