It was just pointed out on CASTRECL that WABC TV is broadcasting a half hour special on the new Lincoln Center production of South Pacific - a sort of behind-the-scenes thing.  Airing this coming Saturday night at 7:30 PM.  I don't know if it will be shown in the national markets, or only in the NYC affiliates.  But the DVR is programmed.

And now at Gate 2...

A young couple and their baby just ran up to the gate - well, at least the couple did, the baby was being carried by his father.  Their flight was/is scheduled to leave at 3:00, which meant that the flight was "closed" at 2:50.  -And it's currently taxi-ing for take-off.  From what I can tell, they checked in about an hour ago, even checked some luggage, but just spaced out when it came time to getting to the gate - even though they were being paged repeatedly over the past 45 minutes.  -They were the only two people not checked in at the gate, and they were trying to leave early.  They even held the plane at the gate for another 10 minutes after the boarding window was closed.  So...  Needless to say, there's a quite frustrated wife and a very(!) unhappy husband trying to rebook for the next flight to Las Vegas. Alas, the next flight to Las Vegas is tomorrow. :-\

-And my outbound aircraft is currently being prepped for boarding and take-off, so..  I think I'll just read the NY Times until they start the boarding for Flight 208 to JFK.  It's been swell, it's been great...

In the near future I shall be watching many Hitchcock films - most of which I have never seen.  Three box sets were covered by an Amazon gift certicate I had burning a hole in my pocket.

Last night, I went to Borders with a coupon for 40% off any single-disc recording...up to three!  I bought Sarah Brightman's new CD, Symphony; P.D.Q. Bach's The Jekyll & Hyde Tour and the new 50th anniversary recording of West Side Story.  It was the equivalent of buying two CDs at 10% off each and getting a third for free! :D Free is always good.

Good Afternoon!

Greetings from the Long Beach Airport... Which seems even smaller than it did when I got here last Wednesday. ;)

LAX has the See's candy shop.  What does the Long Beach Airport have?

A certain record label is no longer distributing their product. They have given it to Footlight records to do that. Also except for that announcement on their website it hasn't been update for almost 2 years. All I can say is Rewind.

She debated whether to leave her tip in the tip jar, or in a less conventional spot.

Hmm... I think that's only at LAX not LGB.  I'm sitting right in the middle of the terminal - which is basically in the middle of the whole airport - and there's no See's in sight.  :-\

I'm so sorry for you.  I figured there would at least be a small kiosk.

However, I do have some of those See's Dark Chocolate Mint Crisps in my carry-on - the were giving them out by the handful at the Los Angeles Visitor's Bureau Desk when I went down there the other day. :)

YUM! :)

Dark air-life looping
Yet missing the pure loop ...
A twitch, a twitter, an elastic shudder in flight
And serrated wings against the sky,
Like a glove, a black glove thrown up at the light,
And falling back.

Never swallows!
Bats!
The swallows are gone.

DB & DR Laura, thank you for the hummingbird photos.  They were very helpful, and colorful.:)

I called the nature store in town & was told we saw a male Anna’s hummingbird.  If it had been the Rufeous it would not have appeared as a flash of color but been solid while we looked at the bird.

And the word of the day is: FETTER!

I say your young men'll be FETTERIN!
FETTERIN away their noontime, suppertime, choretime too!
Get the ball in the pocket,
Never mind gittin' Dandelions pulled
Or the screen door patched or the beefsteak pounded.

I figured that Footlight was about it.  Why would they want to keep selling out of their house?  You know, if they'd come back to me after getting rid of the creep who was a lot of the reason what happened happened, I would have talked to them about getting back the titles or doing something.  But, no, they wanted a nice, prolonged death and I guess they pretty much got it.  Sad, but what can you do?
