Perhaps you meant to type fiend?    ;)

No, my silver-throated pal, I meant "friend."

They've already added the additional charge.

You are correct - I should have said "increase the fuel surcharge".

"We've" warped his mind?  Oh, der Brucer, isn't the reverse more likely?

Glowingly reviewed in Publishers Weekly:

The only negative in the review was the lack of lyrics:

....Many songs are cited, but the lack of lyrics is disappointing, Strouse instead regales with fascinating, sometimes surprising, anecdotes, such as Mike Nichols, clad in a new camel-hair coat, skidding about in his own vomit at an airport. Detailing desperate rewrites, insecurities of theater people, footlight failures and humiliations, as well as theatrical triumphs, Strouse's superb backstage memoir deserves a standing ovation.

Nope!   :)

Hi, Michael!  Are you thinking about coming up north on Saturday?

I was just about to mention this...the weekend is cooking to be a very busy one for me and it looks like I will be unable to attend the HHW Washington festivities :(

It sounds like the title of a ballad from the second act of a musical called "Mike Does New York."  It's sung by the title character, Mike, as he packs his bags, removes his bedding from Larry's fire escape, and hopes in a taxi to relocate to a loft in Tribeca that he plans on sharing, indefinitely, with a young Sikh seeking fame and fortune on Broadway.

 ;)

It's actually sung after Mikey mistakingly picks up a terrorist who ineptly bombs my apartment, leading to the Act One curtain where I evict him.

I am now in Ohio! All quiet on the Western Front.

So far.

Aw, shucks.  I was gonna guess that DR elmore3003 murdered Lady Macbeth, and was in jail, using his "one phone call" to connect to HHW!

DR Elmore, who plays Stew Pot in the South Pacific production you saw, and how was he....he was always my favorite character in the movie (as played by Ken Clark!)

Completely different, short and squat and very funny. You wouldn't like the bodybuilding contestant, either.
