There has not been much of a view from that Piano Bench lately. I wonder if the views of Central Park are more interesting.

Thanks for jogging my memory DR Edi!

"Reds" has some wonderful "Epic" type footage. A great film.

TOD:

I saw and enjoyed the RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, but wasn't interested in seeing any of the sequels. I'm not big on action/adventure films.

SMOOTH SAILING VIBES TO BK!!

Anti-bedbug vibes to DR JASON (and perpetual anti-bedbug vibes to Larry).

TOMOVOZ,
I've been watching CRANFORD and discovered that the screenplay was written by HEIDI THOMAS, who conceived and wrote LILIES.

Oh, elmore, I didn't wish bedbugs on Jason - I was merely pointing out his errant and truant behavior and that it's much easier to get vibes and xylophones if you're actually visiting the site from which you request them.

...And as I said, he didn't request them.  I requested them for him.

TOD: I don't know if it qualifies, but I always loved Disney's "The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh" 3 part series. Kind of a variation on Robin Hood, which I've loved in all of its incarnations.

Der B would probably surmise that I had Communist sentiments instilled in me as a child.

I blame Disney!

It is coming out in a Disney tin release this November.

I spent most of the evening watching many more episodes of THE ODD COUPLE. Included in this bunch this evening were two of my all-time favorites: when Felix finds Oscar a nanny and it ends up being the fabulous Reta Shaw who runs the house like a prison camp. Hilarious.

There was also an episode where Felix's fear of flying could cost him a job, so Oscar tries to help him combat it.

Terri Garr is one of the bit players in this as are George Furth and Grady Sutton.

Quite a memorable episode.

There were a couple of weaker episodes, too. One involved the boys thinking their air conditioner is haunted and calling in exorcist Victor Buono to cast out the evil spirit. Great actor wasted in a ridiculous role.

Oscar working in a greasy spoon to pay back some money he lost is also not one of the stronger episodes.

I had planned on watching an NCIS rerun tonight, but when I checked the listing, I found it was an episode from the fourth season set which I just rewatched a month or so ago.

So instead, I opened the first season box set of NCIS (which I bought today on sale at Wal-Mart ) and watched the pilot episode. Some of the pieces of the show which are present now were there from the beginning, but there are certainly differences.

I'll enjoy getting to watch these over the next weeks as a fun break between all these other TV box sets I'm reviewing.

That really was not a very attractive poster...they should have hired the artist who rendered the paperback book...

Thanks, Cilla.

They called it a Workshop presentation here:

https://www.villagetheatre.org/vo_last-starfighter-08.shtml

but the actors were on-book, so I guess it's also a reading by NYC standards.  Whatever, i was so glad they were on-book, because that allowed us to try new stuff pretty easily.
