Oh...

And it was nice seeing the name of the funeral home again.  ;)

-Yes, that was yet one more "Lost" mention/post.

I wish DR JMK would weigh in with his usual aplomb on the subtle mysteries of LOST!

Singdaw, ever the glutton for pun-ishment:

What did Al Gore say as the denouement of last night's Lost unfolded?

"Locke box."

REAL SPOILAGE THIS TIME:

husker du dukse a;aldjf apqpoiu a;lalkjg;lka qppadsa;lfkj qpqqpoweiu a;lsdjk qpoi   Actually my guess as to who inhabited the coffin, made last year, was correct.  I also pretty much knew who Jeremy Bentham would turn out to be, if only because I am a philosophy freak and realized that Bentham would be a perfect alias for another character named after a philosopher.  My personal hunch is Jin is not quite dead yet, but then this show has proven repeatedly it's not adverse to killing folk off.

Well, time for me to head on down to the Lower East Side...  And after my coaching, I think I may go ahead and explore more of the City that I've come to know and love.  -Like DR elmore, seeing "Sex & The City" this morning just made me fall in love with New York City all over again.  :)

DR elmore - It was great seeing you again this morning too!  So... Are you Carrie, Miranda or Samantha?  -I'm most definitely Charlotte!  ;D

*And thanks for lunch!

I'm probably closest to Miranda in nature, I'd guess.  I would never want to be as neurotic as Carrie, and I knew too many Samanthas when I was on staff with the Men's Chorus. Most of them, I hate to say, are now dead.

Hmmm.... I just read Manohla Dargis' review of "Sex & The City" in The Times...

That bi-yatch needs to get laid!

;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

I just read her review online and looked at all the reader responses; the positives are more than the negatives but, as I said, the hardcore fans will love it; it's like seeing old friends after a period of time, approving and disapproving their choices , and catching up on gossip. The reviewer bitched about the length of the movie. The film's about as long as 3 tv episodes (140+ minutes) and I thought it flew by.  After all, they've got four ladies' stories to balance and also bring back favorite side characters like Magda and the two gay men. I also liked the addition of Jennifer Hudson.

Did anyone mentione yet that Alexander Courage passed away? Composer of the Star Trek theme, as well as orchestating so many famous films.

He even worked on films I would watch, like UNDERSEA GIRL and HOT ROD RUMBLE!

LOST

I truly feel Jin was not killed but that we were supposed to think he was so that when he shows up in the middle of next season, we'll all be shocked. Then again, I still don't understand what happened to Claire, so there you go.

So glad to hear these positives about SEX AND THE CITY. Even if I don't make it to the theater, I'm sure I'll enjoy seeing it on some form of disc, either DVD or Blu-ray.

I began my afternoon with another episode of NCIS while I cooked and ate lunch. It was another season 1 episode as a mummified corpse of a sailor was found with some elaborate means needed to identify him and catch his killer.

Melora Hardin (who plays Jan on THE OFFICE) was the principal guest star.

I got through five episodes of 7TH HEAVEN, all more insipid than the last though the quickie marriage between Matt and Sarah was pretty interesting. But the families' acting like this is the worst thing that could ever happen was just silly. (She's Jewish; he's not.)

Naturally there was a really lame episode about Muslim prejudice. Not that it isn't a worthwhile topic for an episode (or ten), but it was handled in such a Pollyanna way. It just set my teeth on edge.

I finished the afternoon watching another NCIS episode. This one involved discovered drug (Meth) use on board an aircraft carrier, and it featured two of my favorite guest actors: Joel Gretsch and Larry Sullivan.

I'll skim through AS THE WORLD TURNS when I go back down and then spend the remainder of the evening with 7TH HEAVEN. I'm on the next to last disc in the set (only 6 more episodes to go). The end is in sight!

Hiya, kids, hiya -

So I'm scrambling to get outa here on Monday morning, get a show book to the guy taking over music on my show (which has been extended for 2 weeks), when last night, during intermission, I walked into much mayhem, sturm, und drang in the dressing room... seems the actor/pianist for whom I had built a new book for - and was scheduled to meet today to go over stuff - is persona non grata, having broken up with his girlfriend (our leading lady) and made a play for her understudy... oy. Most of the gals are good friends, having worked together before, off and on for years... They are all flocking to support the LL, and trooped into the office after the show to tell the Boss that they will NOT work with that so-and-so. So...

Today I have to figure out how to record music for the two live songs some time between now and 9 ayem Monday morn, and find some CD's of Purcell/Dowland/John (you should forgive the last name) Blow and other period music, to take to the show tonight for Someone to record onto a show CD... AND cobble together a cues list... All the while, collecting and sorting through my stuff and packing my car and writing two articles with looming deadlines...

Ah, la vita artistica!! I'm beginning to feel like Elmore!

The ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY review of the movie matches a lot of my opinion and gives it a B+ rating. I had forgotten the episodes were 25-28 minutes long, so the film's as long as 5 episodes. Why did I think they were 50 minutes? Getting old, I guess.

I found out that on Thursday September 18, 2008, The Manhattan Transfer will be performing with Al Jarreau at this year's Puyallup Fair!  If you scroll down to Sunday September 21, 2008, you'll see that another act performing at the fair will be the Doodlebops Live!

Speaking of kitty, does anyone else find CNN newswoman Kitty Pilgrim one of the more hilariously named people on the air?
