I'm back from the CD release party, and a swell time it was. My talented friend Matthew Brookshire is a wonderful song writer, a bit of bluegrass, a bit of gospel, a bit of Rufus Wainright. and absolutely wonderful. I saw a lot of friends: Curtis, Tom (several of Matthew's collaborators on the wonderful musical-comedy-in-progress FOR THE LOVE OF TIFFANY), Tom's boyfriend Travis, Matthew's violinist Erika, who's a delightful performer. I thought I was coming to a release party for this CD:

It's a CD I really like, but the event was for his 2nd CD, which I bought at the party. I really like the songs, and I recommend Mr Brookshire to all of you.

Matthew and his songwriting partner Curtis Moore wrote the songs for the Todd Solondz film PALINDROMES, so you may have already heard some of his music. The new CD will be available at CDBaby in about a week, so if you're interested, give it a listen.

For example, I have the new SE of Twelve Angry Men, finally anamorphic, but I just watched it not all that long ago, so I'm not quite ready to see it yet - of course, I could watch the supplements. Same with Man Of The West.

One of the things I downloaded was a couple songs from an album that my FIL did years ago. I still say this would be a wonderful album for BK to re-produce.

From what I've seen people are very respectful at the stage door and the actors who want to sign/pose for photos etc do that and others just leave. I don't see the harm in it. There was a cast member in Legally Blonde who had her first performance the night we were there. She was smiling as she signed autographs and when we politely asked if she would pose for a photo because it was Sam's first broadway show, she was very excited and said it was her first performance on Broadway and we were the first to ever ask that.

There was a group of young girls on a trip to see the show, but neither they or anyone elase were "crazed"
