DR Jennifer - If you Google turnips and rutabagas, you'll find that they are often "confused" and are used interchangeably a lot of times.  In fact, they are sometimes called/labeled/sold as "yellow turnips", and are related since a rutabaga is a cross between a turnip and a cabbage.

How I used to stare at that album cover in my parents collection when I was a wee sprig of a twig of a lad!  :)

And that's why you wear glasses today?

What will they think of next:

High-Heel Crocs:

Now I ask you, who would wear such a thing!

Then I remember Singdaw's Easter finery:

One of several possible explanations!    :-X

I've always felt it was best to follow some of the examples one finds in the Bible.  Today, I'm thinking of the New Testament story in which Jesus declared:

"He that is without puns among you, let him cast the first groan!"

"He that is without puns among you..."

Well, that disqualifies DRs FJL and RLP right then and there.    :P

Twice I read this -- TWICE -- before I realized you didn't write "p-a-s-t-i-e"!

Well of course, you can't have too much of a good thing.  Pastel Pasties are even better!  :)

New dear reader and his ever-lovin' brought two homemade pineapple pies last night - we'll be serving them this evening.

TOD:

It would be THE WIZARD OF OZ for me, too. I saw it originally as the first half of a double bill with some Martin & Lewis picture (I think it was PARDNERS). I was riveted to my seat within two minutes of the movie starting and when it switched to color, I was in awe. The witch scared me to death but it was all so magical: the color, the music, the characters so individual and memorable. Gave me a good cry at the end.

Any movie after that would pale in comparison.

I think that "TWOZ" did it for me, also.  We used to watch this on TV all the time when my sister and I were growing up.  I can't think of one that I saw in the movie theater that would fit today's Topic...yet.

Apparently Kine Video is going to be releasing the Hallmark Hall of Fame one hour version of  The Fantasticks from 1964 with Bert Lahr, Sterling Holloway, Fernando Lamas, John Davidson, and Susan Watson for home video.    :)

Maybe you could do an ad campaign for Amy's Breads:

Well, you could always just go down to the West Village to Myers of Keswick and enjoy some Cornish Pasties while wearing your Pastel Pasties.
