Rehearsals are moving right along with the only unknown being who will be sick and miss rehearsal each night.....it's someone new each time.

I think I just discovered why DR JoseSPiano is watching "Nashville Star."

Justin Gaston.  And the adventurous can see his underwear modeling here!

That ain't modeling - that's showing off!  :o

Yes, I still love the magic of movies.  What I have become disenchanted with is the movie audience.  I would love to go to the movie theatre regularly to enjoy a movie with a group of people.....and group.....not a room full of individuals with no regard for those around them.

One thoughtless selfish person can ruin a showing for the rest of the audience.....and so....I sit at home to watch a movie....the magic is still there, but it is so much more fun when it is a shared experience....

And now I am back to watching some movies starring Miss Mamie Van Doren....courtesy DR MBARNUM.  She certainly was prolific, even if she wasn't discriminating in her choice of roles.

The floods in Iowa are really getting bad. There are towns being evacuated, towns where they can't drink the water etc... here's some if the coverage  http://www.desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage  and the  forecast is more rain and severe weather.  We've been ok so far, but could get over 3 inches of rain tomorrow night so who knows.

In my family, those were (and still are) called Wound Cookies

Ginny, I hope you have lots of cookies tomorrow to help you deal with your wound!

A friend of mine's daughter used to like to make "scab cake" (slightly less disgusting than Der B's kitty litter cake). It was something like a yellow cake with red crumbly stuff on the top and a custard center that oozed when you cut it open. Disgusting...and DELICIOUS!

Um, I'm not so sure that the scab cake is any less disgusting.

Actually, I think the bicycliest would run into me.

I was hit by a bicycle messenger in New York during one of our HHW gatherings, but I wasn't looking at my feet.

They are pretty assertive, from what I saw.

Edi - Did you mean to say ASS YOU LIKE IT, or AS YOU LICK IT, or some combination of those?  If you did, well, shame on you.

I was trying to stay within the family site demographics!

I think running over or into people could probably be called aggressive rather than assertive ;)

It's fascinating to me, the flooding in Wisconsin is so bad the lakes are literally disappearing...ok one lake...towns are being evacuated in Iowa, bridges are being washed out etc...yet I really don't see much about it at all on the national news.

Not a word about it on the Arizona newspaper website.

I have also been ping-ponging between review DVDs, in this case massive boxed sets of Prehistoric Earth, Robin of Sherwood and Mannix Season 1.  I finally stopped for a while and downloaded the new firmware for my Samsung duo-format HD player and, true to their word, the latest upgrade contains "Bonus View," the new interactive mode for Blu-Ray.  It was wild watching the first few minutes of National Treasure 2 with it on--so many options were popping up here and there it was hard to keep up with them all.  The kids of course were screaming at me to give them the remote.  :)  To quote Charlton Heston, "From my cold, dead hands....."
