Does anyone know when CRY-BABY is being recorded, or if it is being recorded?

DR George, is it possible for me to get TWO copies of tonight's program? ? ?  If I say "Pretty please?"

Well, since you said "Pretty please," yes...and Vixmom, also. :)

Ok, when they said they were making a musical of Cry baby, I didn't realize they were changing the numbers that were already in the movie - what was wrong with the prison number in the movie - I had better everything.

DR Cillaliz - I just saw a news story about the flooding at University of Iowa.  I'm so sorry.

I've been trying really hard to find a photo of Hancher Auditorium. I think it's flooded, but I've heard mixed reports.  At least they've moved a lot of things but what a mess that disgusting river water will be when it recedes

I don't know when it happened, but as I was catching up with all the posts, I noticed that Jose hit 30,000 Posts!  So, I saved both the blue and the white versions. ;) Congrats, Jose!!

Okay, what was that Cry Baby number?  That just exemplifies everything I loathe about Broadway musicals these days - boring music, bad lyrics, and I'm sorry, Rob Ashford just doesn't have it - boring staging and everything looking like a perfectly oiled machine - Cry Baby shouldn't look like Hairspray or Legally Blonde or fill in name of show, but they all look exactly the same.  Terrible.  I'm one for one so far, awards-wise.

The one award I knew in advance was Best Musical, because, as I stated earlier, follow the power and the one who is the most cocky.

I'm going to record tomorrow's "The View" to see if she talks about tonight's show.  That should be fun. :)

I haven't seen any of the new shows, unfortunately, save for Xanadu and Mary Poppins, both of which I found enjoyable on certain levels.

Are we on a West Coast Spoiler-Free Environment? If so:

SPOILER SPACE

Honestly, what makes tonight's winner for lead actress in a musical so exalted?  I've heard the Tony Award sampler cd and saw tonight's murder of the act one closing number. . .

I'll Pass on Passing Strange, at least from what was just performed.  It doesn't really seem to be something I'd enjoy (I really don't need to hear the lyric "tell me that isssallrightttt" 432 times in a row).  Stew has a lot of energy, so that's a plus.

TD, maybe within the context of the whole show makes it all worthy.

An energy which does NOT come across on the recording, even though it was recorded live. . . .

Are these commercial breaks longer than the Oscar breaks?

I took Dixie Bell for a walk in the yard during one of the commercial breaks and didn't miss a moment of the show. . . so, yes, I think that they're longer. . . .

I'm only on page 9. So i gather no award spoilers for the West Coast.

I have a question (don't know if it's been answered). But why is sondheim not there for his lifetime achievement award?

That really bothered me.

I wanted an extravagant number with a bunch of songs. I was very disappointed.

Considering how slowly I'm moving these days, I was grateful for the long commercial breaks  ;)
