Okay - Sierra Bogess as The Little Mermaid - don't care for her vibrato all that much and it was a bad chunk of the song.  The Catered Affair - once again we hire Jonathan Tunick to faux Sondheim up a score - the lyrics weren't very good - Faith was struggling, but I like her anyway.  And then there was that large hunk of fecal matter called Deep Love - one of the worst things I've ever seen.  What was very funny in the film, has been turned into a terrible song (every song in the show is "based" on another song model, and there's not a good one in the bunch, except for Puttin' On The Ritz, of course).

Okay, what has Andrea Martin done to herself?  Like we can't put on a video from five years ago and see what she really looks like?

Well... If she's making some the semi-decent money on Broadway.... More power - and surgery - to her!

;)

*Although, I also seem to recall that she's also started to live a "healthier lifetstyle" a few years ago, so...

Well, no one can say we didn't get to page thirty-nine.  And hopefully page forty and beyond.

No, Andrea has done a LOT of work - a LOT.  Nothing to do with healthy living - just healthy surgery.

Has Tom Wopat been on yet ? I missed the first hour of the show(I already know whether or not he won)

He was interviewed during the Red Carpet coverage.  You will see him briefly at towards the end of the program.

I thought Sierra sounded better in rehearsal.

I thought Faith Prince sounded better in rehearsal.

And I thought it seemed like Megan Mullaly didn't give a damn during rehearsal.

AARRGGHH!! >:( My non-HD DVR isn't recording the Tony Awards!  I don't know what the heck happened.  I set it to record and I checked the schedule SEVERAL times before today.  A few minutes ago I went upstairs to check on it and it hadn't started recording. :P Anyway, my HD-DVR is recording, so I know that I am definitely getting the show, but when I burn a regular DVD from the HD-DVR, there will be black all around the picture, not just on the top and bottom. :-\

Was The Seafarer really yet another play about the Devil wanting someone's soul?  How does anyone have the nerve to write that plot AGAIN.

Overall, thus far I'd have to say the Tonys are just not all that.

Well, how about aliens from another planet who are planning to takeover the Earth?

Seriously...

He had the nerve, and he did it well.  Very well.

...And there are many other plays where someone loses their soul to the Devil - or some form of a devil.

Well... I've been realizing/remembering over the past hour or so that I have been up since 7:30 this morning.  Not sure if I'll be able to make it to the end of end of the West Coast broadcast of The Tonys.

In The Heights didn't look so good, but I'm sure it's better in context.   But, I'll say it again, South Pacific puts everything but Gypsy to shame -

If someone would have described that musical number from IN THE HEIGHTS that just played I would have thought to myself "I would just hate that," ....however, I actually really enjoyed it!

I'm just always surprised that someone would want to do the devil plot - I'm sure it was a good play and all, but I think there probably have been only a handful of plays about aliens taking over the Earth, whereas the devil plot has been used, I don't know, hundreds of times?

People are dropping like flies - most unseemly.  We'd best get to page forty, at least.  We did have a shot at number five all-time highest posting day, but as soon as the East Coast was done, that became impossible because everyone vamoosed.

I am very behind on OCRs - don't have Spring Awakening, In The Heights, Passing Strange, Xanadu, or anything else besides Young Frankenstein, which I wish I didn't have.

Are you telling me that REGIS PHILBIN is the host of Password?  In this fetid artistic world we live in, do these networks thing there is NO OTHER PERSON besides Regis Philbin who can host a game show?  And the tarted up now look of the show is enough to make me NEVER tune in.  Give me Allan Ludden any day.
