We had a "gully washer" about 3 p.m. that cooled things by about 10 degrees, so off went the A/C and on went the attic fan again. I'm sitting in my office right now with the window open and the attic fan pulling in lovely cool air. Very nice.

DR Ron Pulliam - you may intepret my post in any manner that is pleasing to you.    :P     :)

But I need guidance, from time to time, in order to know what degree of snark in which I might or might not indulge.

I am totally envious!

I can't remember the last time my gullies were washed!

I began my afternoon watching last night's MY LIFE ON THE D-LIST. Funny show, and Tom's policeman brother was kind of cute. Next week's show promises to be even more hilarious.

Then I watched the next three episodes of THE STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO. In the first one, Tom Bosley plays a small time crook who steals a money drop from the mob and spends the rest of the show running from both the police and a hitman. They end up on Alcatraz (but neither Clint Eastwood nor Sean Connery was there).

In the second episode, Earl Holliman and Jessica Walter played a formerly married couple trying to fleece an insurance company out of a big settlement.

Well, I just finished running some errands - all on foot - and according to my semi-newish Nike+Sportband, I walked 2.96 miles.  *And I also think I may have put one too many boxes in the mailbox in front of my post office.  After I deposited the last box, I checked to make sure it wasn't blocking the chute, well... Since I could no longer open the mailbox, well...  However, I did go inside and tell one of the clerks about the problem.  Alas, he just gave me one of those "What do you expect me to do about it?" looks through the double-paned bullet-proof glass.

And in the third episode, Rick Nelson played a flute-playing pimp who kills his "girls" when they get out of line. Rick looked fabulous, and one of the girls was played by Kay Lenz. Darlene Carr played the daughter of Karl Malden.

In the mail today was the review copy of GANGS OF NEW YORK on Blu-ray disc. It's due on July 1 as well, so I've got a bunch of stuff to watch this next week that all comes due on July 1: two more TV box sets in addition to STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO and GANGS OF NEW YORK.

I'm going to be a busy little bee, but I'm still going to relax after finishing disc 2 of STREETS tonight by rewatching ENCHANTED. Can't wait to see it again.

They now know what the wiring problem is, but they have to go and get stuff to do it with, and they're telling me it "might" be today, or could be tomorrow.  I've suggested strongly that it be today so I don't have to endure another night in an eighty-something degree house.

I'm merrily registering songs with ASCAP, something I've been very lax about.

I have been lying on the couch with my foot elevated while listening to cds.

May I say that John Adams is obnoxious and disliked.

Thank you for the information, DR Elmore. I must have missed it before, or at least forgot to write it down!

My DH has an interesting job coming up: "Dukefest"! It's a reunion of the cast members of THE DUKES OF HAZZARD. There will be 7 crews shooting, so I imagine it will be cut into a TV special.

I see that the new special editions of AN AMERICAN IN PARIS and GIGI, both two-disc editions, are coming out in September. Their Blu-ray counterparts come out in early 2009.

AN AMERICAN IN PARIS has been given the Ultra-Resolution treatment.

I'll wait for the Blu-rays, but since both DVDs were in dire need of new cleaned-up transfers, this is great news.

Guess I'll head down now to get the last STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO watched for the day. Then, I'll find some other fun things to watch.

I'm putting off mopping the kitchen floor until tomorrow morning.

There will also be a live concert with John Schneider's band. Don't know yet if Tom Wopat will be performing, but Cooter will be, I believe.

The first 5 episodes were filmed here; then they moved hte show out to LA. A dear friend from college worked on it and then went on to be an A.D. and production manager for some very successful series, including WITHOUT A TRACE.
