I have this fantasy that I have a stack of pre-made, bright orange bumper stickers that say: MOTHER NATURE IS MY ASHTRAY.  And they're made with an insidious glue that doesn't let go.  And when I get to the next stop light, I jump out of my car and affix one to the back of the offending vehicle.

I want a sign to flash at them that says: YOU ARE A BUTT-HEAD!

And now, the DH has arisen, and we are embarking to the local greasy spoon for omlettes!

We went to a local meat & 3 last night that used to be great. Now it is "under new management". We had a very expensive (for that sort of thing) and very substandard meal. The fact that it was almost empty should have tipped us off. We shan't be going back!

That's a great book, DR EDISAURUS!!!

Travel vibes for DR JOSE......no smoke vibes for DR DRUXY.

Check receiving vibes for MR BK.

TOD:  Most of mine have to do with - surprise - the driving habits of some others.  But just to choose one that hasn't already been mentioned:

Drivers who pull out from an intersection even though YOU have the right of way and there is NO ONE behind you.... causing you to brake or slow down.  It is also those same people that usually turn left within the next couple of blocks.

Interesting DR TOMovOZ.....and in addition to the post that DR JOSE made....I was thinking the popularity of the song might have something to do with this.

Scroll down for the video.

Today is a work day - oh well.

DR LAURA there is one living son in the play - and one missing in action and presumed dead by everyone except his mother.

There is another son of another family as well.

And NO I won't be playing any of the parts.....yikes!

Good morning!

A rather cool morning, but not as cool as yesterday. Still, I have everything opened up to cool the house down as much as possible. By noon, I'll seal everything back up and let the A/C switch on when the temp climbs to uncomfortable levels. (I keep my A/C at 77.)

The "parking lights" on my car come on automatically when I'm driving. If there's a way to turn them off while driving, I don't know about it.

Littering is probably my worst pet peeve. Having a corner house, my yard bears the brunt of both walking and driving litterbugs. Folks stopping at the corner before turning right or left toss stuff out. People walking one block down from a convenience store are usually finished with their ice cream or candy by the time they get to my house and the wrappers go in my yard.

It is BEYOND infuriating.

Today, I'll be finishing up the two remaining episodes of THE STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO. Tonight, I'll be watching THE GANGS OF NEW YORK on Blu-ray. Robert Harris has already beaten me to the punch with some comments about the quality of the Blu-ray disc, abominable are his words.

I never bought the sDVD version of the film, but it was supposedly unwatchable. Sadly, Blu-ray hasn't improved on it much at least according to Robert. I'll be judging for myself tonight.

My god but it's a long movie!

The transfers for THE STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO have been very, very good: sharp and very colorful. (This is from the 1973 season.) Imagine my annoyance to put in some MURDER SHE WROTE episodes from 1990 after watching STREETS last night, and the MURDER SHE WROTEs were washed out and soft.

Again, a night with nothing of interest on television for me, so I'm glad to have so many DVDs to keep me occupied.

And now I'm off to the NYPL for a couple of hours. I'm reading the correspondence of RH Burnside, producer Charles Dillingham's director for The Lady of the Slipper. So far, nothing on the show, but a lot of real estate offers and something called THE LADY OF LUZON.

DR Jennifer, about IN PLAIN SIGHT:

I gave it three episodes to grab me, and it just didn't. Didn't like the sister/mother characters at all and found all of their scenes annoying and unnecessary. The cases barely held my interest. The leading lady Mary McCormick wasn't particularly ingratiating either.

I compare this to something like BURN NOTICE which hooked me within ten minutes of the first episode I watched and never let go. I couldn't wait until the next week's episode.

Some shows take time to build up a cachet with their audience, but after three tries, it didn't seem like IN PLAIN SIGHT was going to do it for me, so I dropped it.
