The end-of-FY FLAILEX continues unabated.

I just spent 45 minutes auditing a purchase order that had three change orders appended to it.  The issue:  The Purchase Order is for $XXXXXXXX but the quotes are for less $XXXXXXX.  And someone demands to know, "Why isn't your purchase order correct?"

And I reply: "First of all, sweetie, I don't create Purchase Orders!  I provide a request, including specific amounts of money --- taxable, nontaxable, taxable shipping, nontaxable handling, etc., etc, etc.  I can only rely upon "Others" to correctly decipher, interpret, and calculate amounts of money when they issue Purchase Orders."

"Well, what should the correct total be?"

"Crap!"

So I did an audit...and I found error after error perpetrated by "the professionals"...taxed items being retaxed to the tune of $9.000 over and above what they should be.

I made someone VERY VERY HAPPY, and I still don't get a raise for working well above my job description.

You have the picture correct. Elmore is so cute that way.

Now I'm seeing him in a beanie with a spinner on top.

BK, I appreciate your concern, but I stand by my statement.   Start a discussion on the Forum--you probably won't be ravaged.  :)

From his posts this morning, one might think that DR Ron Pulliam has been inhaling some of that bad air in his neck of the woods.  ;)

Or maybe I'm just on a sugar rush from chocolate cakes and pies!    :-*

In other news, well...

OH!

DR George - I can't remember the exact word or the exact placement of said word, but it was something along the line of "special interest", IIRC.

;)

It was VERY obvious...especially when they desribed themselves as "think Brokeback meets Broadway." ;D

Wednesday morning greetings!  Just as I logged on here we received a flurry of phone calls from my physician.  Seems I was given misinformation last night and took an incorrect dose of one of my medications.  So, the Friday blood test has been moved up to Thursday, which actually is more convenient, but the circumstances are a little unnerving.

~~~VIBES THAT EVERYTHING IS OKAY!!~~~
I watched "America's Got Talent" last night....and I hope things pick up next week.  There was some good talent in there, but there was far too much crap.  And all those cuts to Jerry Springer for his comments are absolutely ludicrous.
I hated that!  I don't want to watch Jerry's or the audience's reaction to the act...I want to watch the act!!
Sad tales fill soaked libraries
http://www.desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080625/NEWS02/806250374/1001/NLETTER01&source=nletter-news
How you can help Iowa libraries
Flooded libraries ask that the public not donate books at this time. They do not yet have systems in place to organize them or anywhere to store them. Monetary donations for cleanup and for the purchase of new materials can be sent to:
- Cedar Rapids Public Library Foundation, 500 First St. S.E., Cedar Rapids, IA 52401. Mail will be forwarded to the west side branch.
- The National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library, 30 16th Ave. S.W., Cedar Rapids, IA 52404-5904. Please write "Flood Relief" in the memo line of your check. More information is available at www.ncsml.org.
- Friends of the New Hartford Public Library, P.O. Box 292, New Hartford, IA 50660.
I printed the article and put it in our staff room.
