Had a nice long lunch with friends. One of them is moving back to Roanoke, so it was a genuinely heartfelt goodbye.

Because of the long lunch and the company (a John Doyle reference in honor of DR Elmore -- ;D ), I only got 1 1/2 episodes of WALK TEXAS RANGER watched this afternoon.

The first one was about a "boot camp" for young prison inmates trying to get them on the path to turning their lives around. No famous guest stars, but one of the inmates was the actor who played Scut Farkus in A CHRISTMAS STORY. We always knew that guy would turn out to be bad, didn't we?  :)

The second episode, which I only got halfway through, has two well known guest stars: John Beck and Randolph Mantooth. It's about some shady doings at the racetrack.

Should be able to get two or three more episodes watched tonight before FEAR ITSELF comes on. I'll record MY LIFE ON THE D-LIST and watch it tomorrow while I cook and eat lunch. I like being able to slip through commercials in the show and not have to wait for the next hilarious segment.

Back from lunch.  We had everything Szechuan -- chicken, broccoli and shrimp, kung pao, hand-pulled noodles in a peanut sauce, pot stickers and braised green beans.

We et and et and et and et!  We wuz hongry!

And then we et some more!

I'm pleasantly full.  Alas, alack, alarum -- there is a retirement gathering in 40 minutes with cake and ice cream.  Yuck.  Barf-a-rama.  I must attend!

Zach Ward -- a really terrific actor who gets "typed" into bad guy roles a lot of the time.  He was delightful as Christopher Titus' younger brother on the short-lived comedy series "Titus."  He is also a very busy actor, as well.

Did about two hours-worth of errands and I think I'll just take the rest of the day off, or maybe spend another hour later e-mailing my fixes for the lead sheet guy.

Guess I'll head back down and plunge back into more episodes of WALKER TEXAS RANGER. I sure wish the acting was better. It would make watching these episodes so much more pleasant.

Today during lunch (Jack in the Box...their sirloin cheeseburger), I stopped at the post office and mailed out four, count 'em FOUR packages for four, count 'em FOUR Dear Readers!  TD, TCB, TPunk and Vixmom will soon be enjoying the 2008 Tony Awards! ;D

I once unintentionally went 24 hours without eating. I got up one morning and was anxious to start a project of installing a runner on my staircase over carpet. It's a curved staircase which meant the runner had to be cut into separate pieces for each stair step, and each piece had to be fitted just right. Armed with just a staple gun with the longest staples I could find, half the staples wouldn't go through the carpet to the wood, so this literally took all day long and I never stopped to eat. I finally ate after sundown and hadn't eaten since before sundown the day before. The next day, I realized the previous day was Yom Kippur. Yes...that's right...I fasted all day on Yom Kippur BY ACCIDENT! That's the only time in my life I ever did that.

Has Danise recovered from the fall off her car (please note, ofOz!)?
Thank you Ron.  Noted!

I am fully aware that I make many mistakes when posting on the Net etc. I just wish that more "official" documents, speeches etc took more notice of "rules".  My proof reading of my own posts is still so very flawed.

"Boy On a Dolphin".  I've not seen it since it was first at the movies.  I remember it as being beautifully filmed  but not really having much impact otherwise.  I love the Julie London sung title song.

The score by Hugo Friedhofer is absolutely splendid, as is that glorious photography (oddly, though, the underwater stuff looks as though it were filmed in a tank, unlike the gorgeous underwater stuff done for "Beneath the 12-Mile Reef".  Of course, it could be that print.).

I received my copy of the "South Pacific" CD this week.
I am now wondering why I have 5 different versions on CD and three on DVD.
It's not my favourite R & H show. (I would rather have more versions of "Carousel" but I guess there are not many available)

Amy

Amy, do you know the Frank Loesser song "Once in Love With Amy"?  Does Mark sing it to you?

Once in love with Amy, always in love with Amy
Ever and ever fascinated by her, sets your heart afire to stay.

Once you're kissed by Amy, tear up your list it's Amy
Ply her with bonbons, poetry, and flowers, moon a million hours away.

You might be quite the fickle-hearted rover so carefree and bold
Who loves a girl and later thinks it over and just quits cold.

But once in love with Amy, always in love with Amy
Ever and ever sweetly you'll romance her, trouble is the answer will be
That Amy'd rather stay in love with me.
