I suppose I could prepare a fresh salad.  It would be good for me, after all.

I'm listening to the theme from Psycho...kind of creepy...oh, that's better, now the Meaning of Life from Monty Python! *LOL*  What a funny switch, huh?

DR Ron, I put together a tasty breakfast this morning.  It could be for dinner too.  2 pieces of toast, 1 scrambled egg (in micro), a little bit of mozzarello cheese (okay can't spell today), salsa, and a little bit of non fat sour cream!  Yummy!

Lunch was a whole wheat pita with romaine lettuce, cheddar cheese, English cucumber, and light ranch dressing.

Only a possible concern for your co-workers.  We're perfectly fine with it.

So do you want our help compiling a Chopin Liszt?

I know the first half of that, DR Tomovoz!  I'm guessing that the second half is a similar scenario.

The Brooklyn Bridge waterfalls have been turned on!  :)

Temporary art installation, similar to Christo's "The Gates" a few years back...

Good Evening!

I'm back from rehearsal, which turned out to be a very easy day for me.  Since the cast was doing a run-thru of the Cirque show this afternoon for some of the people from the office, most of today was spent cleaning up that.  However, now that that show has been staged and presented, the next two rehearsal days can and will concentrate on the ALW music.  -Alas, I have a feeling I may have to make some people cry (again) tomorrow, but better tomorrow instead of next week.

And now I'm going to go for a walk and get some dinner.  I shall have to catch up on the post upon my return.

The sky is a funny color because of the big fire west of town. So far it has not burned any houses -- it is out in the desert. But from the reports I've heard, it is very close to the water recharge basins I like to visit. You have seen photos from there.

The basins probably don't have a trusty alarm system like your church does.   ;)

Orange skies are so 1950's and marmalade skies so 1960's.

And Tangerine skies?  1990's, perhaps?

Just saw the track listing for this four CD box set of Sondheim that's coming out in September.  Now, we'll just put aside that this box has been in the works for four years and had no release date until I announced Evening Primrose (the most anyone said to me was end of this year).  That is, I'm sure, just a coincidence.  There are, according to the press release, thirty-seven unreleased tracks.  No matter how I counted I could not come up with thirty-seven, unless there are separate tracks for the pieces in The Enclave and Invitation To A March.  I do hope they're not counting the Evening Primrose vocals because those have obviously been released.  But most of the unreleased tracks are Sondheim singing songs that have, in fact, been recorded elsewhere - by me, mostly on Unsung Sondheim, which also included The Enclave and Invitation To A March.  So, the demos are the thing here - if you want to hear Sondheim singing these songs.  The most interesting thing in the set are the demos from Saturday Night with Jack Cassidy and, of all people, Arte Johnson.

Topic of the Day:  Sleep:  when I was in college, one time (that I can remember) I had to write a paper and take a final.  I don't remember what class it was for, but I woke up in the morning at 7:00 am, and didn't go to sleep until 11:00 pm the next day.  That was the longest time.

Otherwise, here at work, we used to have a team for the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life (it's a 24-hour walking relay...at least one person from each team should be on the track at all times) and each year at the "event," our team would be at the local high school the entire time and most of us would stay up the whole time (from 6 pm Friday until 6 pm Saturday) after also being at work that Friday in the morning.  I'd usually be in bed by 8 pm, and not wake up until noon or so on Sunday.
