I know what it is that picture reminds me of!

But you don't really want me to tell you.

Friday afternoon greetings!  I've had quite a morning, but at least it's not ending with admission to the hospital.  I am home and about to crash for a nap.

After my visit to the foot surgeon, I am no longer bionic.  They offered to let me keep the pins he removed from my foot (to make earrings or wind chimes), but I was afraid we'd confuse them with the pins we put in the turkey at Thanksgiving.  Just need now to keep healing, but I can shower without 3 plastic bags on my foot.

Then we went to the lab for today's blood test and I have one piece of advice - never go dehydrated into a blood draw.  It took 2 techs  and 4 tries.

Richard is lunching at The Grande Finale with his former co-workers and will bring me a fabulous dessert.

Love the Carmen Miranda lobby cards, DR RLP!

I have a nice collectoin of vintage lobby cards...alas, they all sit in a box gathering (not so much) dust.

Welcome to new DR AJameson!  I, too, met your sister in NYC last fall and she thinks I'm cute.

Thanks, Mike!  Mine are in a box, too.  Alas!

My "dream" is that I will some day have a larger place where I can actually have a "video room".  I plan on constructing a marquee on which I can display posters and stills and lobby cards for whatever movie I plan on watching.  Ideally, I'd have friends over for dinner, followed by the movie, and they could enjoy the "collectibles" I've acquired over the years.

And just because it hasn't been aid, and because I've thought strongly about not saying it, but because I feel it must be said, especially since it's what I've avoided saying since seeing a certain photograph:

So the cat won't run away, because the cat is declawed, because the cat is the new genetically engineered hypoallergenic cat and is too valuable to be mixing with the ferel cats in the neighborhood.   Because you love the cat?

Those are all very good guesses, but none of them are exactly what I was looking for. The cat is white with blue eyes. 85% of all white blue-eyed cats are deaf. Therefore, she can't hear cars coming or coyotes nearby. I've always had indoor/outdoor cats in the past and it's true they don't live as long (mine lived 10 years), but sometimes I think if I could give a cat the choice between living 10 years, getting to run free and chase butterflies, or 20 years cooped up in a boring house, they'd choose the shorter life. My concern with this cat is that because she is deaf, she wouldn't even make it 10 years.

My cats have always been indoor-only cats, but they are free to sit out on the balcony when I am home.  Since both of them are declawed there isn't much choice in the matter.

Is it a Rex cat, Amy?

Yes, it is. I won't make anyone guess if she's a Cornish Rex or a Devon Rex. She's a Devon. Devons have a flatter face and shorter head that gives them a pixie look. A Cornish Rex has a much longer muzzle.

Today begins the TASTE OF TACOMA, that three-day feeding festival just down the street from me.  I certainly do enjoy sitting out on the balcony and enjoying the view of the thousands who flock to the TASTE.  What I don't enjoy is my inability to get out of my drvieway to go anywhere, and my inability of getting back to my home in a reasonable amount of time.
