I was literally on my feet all day, they'd kill me for suggesting a dance.

Although we prefer to think of it as "peaceful."

We also like "peaceful".  I consider that much different than boring.

Last night we watched the powerful documentary I HAVE NEVER FORGOTTEN YOU about the life & work of Simon Wiesenthal.

Was it Cilla & Edi who recommended this to us?  Whoever it was, THANK YOU!

DR Cilla, it is very interesting.  Tonight we are going for fluff & watching PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLDS END.

In my CD player I have a CD Keith's brother made for me of Dick Haymes and Dick Haymes duets with Helen Forrest.

Thank you MBarnum.  I'm sure I will have a lot of fun here!

Cill - YES.  Yesterday morning we had 5-6" of rain in 8-12 hours.  The rivers are up as well as the lakes and such.

When we get a lot of water really fast, since it's a cement jungle and hilly, the drainage system can't keep up and so the water pools up in the road at the bottom of the hills.  After it stops raining it manages to drain off in a few hours.

I watched the GLAAD Awards - who was that dreadful singer and why was she performing? - and then I watched Acts One and Two of the Royal Opera's beautiful production of Le Nozze di Figaro/i] with the latest bari-hunk Erwin Schrott.

I don't like David McVicar's insistence on staging the glorious overture which is needless business about the castle of the Count Almaviva; does he think audiences have a hard time with the concept of simply listenig to something? He does do a lot of funny business with evesdropping servants, and once the story begins, it's quite a gripping, very funny amorous tempest. He doesn't shy away from the brutality of the Count, which is good, and the wonderful Phillip Langridge does a funny turn as the foppish, maybe downright queer, Don Basilio, music master to the Countess and pimp to the servants.

The Cherubino is wonderful and I got all weepy from her "voi che sapete" through the glorious Act Two finale. Tomorrow night,I watch Acts Three and Four

Then she'd have the fast car

LOL
I was also thinking of Suzanne Vega, Michell Shocked and Toni Childs.  Just that sort of folk style and voice.
