and Odd Thomas, by Dean Koontz, who I find to be a much better writer than Stephen King, and is a dog lover as well.

DVD:
I just watched a bit of Hello, Dolly, specifically the bits used in Wall-E, for obvious reasons if you've seen Wall-E (and if you haven't, you should!).  Michael Kidd sure could be a strange choreographer.  I'm amazed Gene Kelly let him get away with all that butt-sticking-out stuff.

In the oven, since I won't get off from work until ten tonight:

A nice big pot of chile.  With both beef and pork.  And beef stock and beer.  

And I've whirred together some cilantro and sour cream to top it with, now chilling in the chill chest.

I am currently reading "Dorothy Parker: In Her Own Words" as I thought I should read up and educate myself on different literary figures of the infamous Round Table since we will be staying at the Algonquin in New York and also read "Laughter's Gentle Soul: The Life of Robert Benchley.
I also have "The Portable Dorothy Parker" next.  

I am always reading something.  Just wondered what people here are reading...always looking for a good read.  It doesn't have to be biographies as I actual lean more towards novels or suspense/thrillers.

I just started reading Conrad Richter's Awakening Land trilogy, about the settling of the Ohio territory.  The Trees is my book group selection for July, but with all the time I have now, I'll probably read The Fields and The Town, too.

The audience member in The Brain Tap was a little younger than I like to choose, but he was funny.  The best marks seem to be between forty and seventy and who look like they'd rather die than be on stage.

Der Brucer's son-in-law just dropped off an ugly trailer, which is now sitting on the yard portion of our home.  If the neighbors don't complain about how ugly it is, they should.

Apparently, he and his wife stopped by the store where I work before heading to their camper at the campground.  Apparently, it is very busy there today.  So much for the predictions that it wouldn't be as busy today as it was yesterday (and it was very busy yesterday).  I may head in early today, just because I can.

I said i would post after i caught up. Well i am only up to episode 4 (although i know who went this week in episode 5).I would like to watch episode 5. But nobody has posted it on youtube. And mtv.com won't let me watch it (since i am outside the US). I guess i'll have to wait.

Anyhow, i'm not actually sure who i want to win. I really like lauren (the blonde 18 year old) and rhiannon. I sometimes like bailey. Sometimes she seems just like what i think elle woods is. But sometimes she is slightly obnoxious.

I actually sort of liked cassie S. Not that i would have chosen her for the part. But i didn't find her as annoying as the girls did.
The one who i do find comes across as annoying is emma. I did not see this past week's show yet. But was it really such a stunner to have her go?

I am not crazy about autumn or celina for the role. Although i think autumn seems really lovely. They play much too old for me.  Not sure about natalie.  I know a lot of people already know the winner. But i'm sort of happy i don't. It should be interesting to see the rest of the shows.

I don't know if the actors' taking more time off from rehearsals with the least provocation when it's either nonprofessional or "lower-paying" professional contracts  is a generational thing; I'm wondering if it's a function of the times we live in rather than a generational work ethic.   As we know from various Fringe and NYMF friends, the practice of taking off from rehearsals when you have auditions or other things to do and leaving others in the lurch happened among older actors as well as younger actors; whatever age, they did it because they were allowed under the rules to do so.

Didn't matter if it was a paying gig or not - I never missed a rehearsal.  It was unthinkable.  Today, it IS both older and younger actors, but the older ones are just watching the general attitude and going along with it.  Just as I would never have thought of missing a performance - Broadway actors today miss performances like crazy, for any and every reason.
