I'm imagining that DR Ginny's homeless and indigent clientele are probably missing her right about now.  Perhaps they'll just show up on her doorstep to serenade her with a little "get well" song!  :D

No matter how it's argued, DR Jennifer, it was still illegal and copyrighted and someone took issue with it.

Many times, things appear on youtube, and elsewhere, and the owners of the copyright "don't" make an issue of it.  Sometimes, it's far too much trouble, or it's too costly.

Fact is, though, that there are tens of thousands of copyright violations on the internet at any given time...if that few.

So...if it disappeared, it means someone took serious issue with it.  In this case, it's probably because it involves music from a current show on Broadway, and the clips are from a current show on TV trying to find a future cast for the show.

Just because everybody else does this stuff doesn't make it right.

Ditto.

In fact, there is an now an office over at Equity that will routinely monitor what's put up on YouTube, and will have things taken off the site if they are deemed in violation of copyright - as well as the rights' of the actors, technicians, musicians and production staff involved with the show.  Alas, there really is just too much stuff on there to be wiped out in one fell swoop, but, again, as DR Ron Pulliam stated, that doesn't make it right.  -And it seems that most of the TV networks don't take action themselves - even though they could - since the clips act as free promotion for their shows.

My guess is that the quality of the clips that the "best poster" posted more than likely prompted immediate action.  *And since the MTV show does show clips from the actual Broadway production, both the theatrical and TV unions would and could have issue with posting clips from the show.  *And if you had access to the reports of the initially botched agreements to have Legally Blonde taped and broadcast on MTV in the first place, you'd probably would not be so upset/annoyed that the clips were taken down.  Attention - and people! - must be paid!  ;)

Good morning!

I'm just now catching up on the rest of yesterday's posts, and saw bk's correction to Gerome Ragni. The reason I posted it as a JR was because I went to the internet to check the spelling (as a kid, I always thought of the name as "Ragini"). I did a google of "Jerome Ragni Hair" and got tons of results for him so I assumed that was how it was spelled.

We are -- AGAIN -- having another hot spell.  Honestly!  It's not supposed to BE like this here.  We get intense heat, we get a cool-down; then we get another intense heat and then we get another cool-down.

It's supposed to be mild here in the summer.   Period.  No intense heat ever.

Today, it's gonna be so hot that birds'll be carrying oven mitts to pick worms off the ground.

And the word of the day is: TROGLODYTE!

DR Jennifer - Have you ever watched a baseball game and heard the disclaimer/warning about rebroadcasting the game in any way, shape or form?  The same applies to almost anything shown on TV and in a movie theatre.  You have to read the fine print - literally - in the credits.

Back when "Wicked" was in its pre-Broadway phase and playing at S.F.'s Curran Theater, someone posted digital clips of most of the show's songs on Kristin Chenoweth's internet site.  That lasted about a day.  Those lucky souls who copied them are indeed fortunate, but stern warnings were posted there that the site would not host anything illegal.

And the song "Heatwave" seems to be a favorite here this morning.  Well, at least a favorite of some of the women coming in to audition.  It may take a few months for it to become a favorite of mine again.  ;)

OY!

I just re-read my previous posts.  It seems all the "girl group" singing this morning has affected my sense of grammar and use of punctuation.

If a bird lands on a sidewalk for any reason, it's gonna be a roasted bird.

Well.. If there is a common misspelling out there on the website, Google will find that too.

-And to keep this in line with the recent posts here, all you have to do is Google: "Kirsten Chenoweth", "Kristen Chenoweth", "Kristin Chenoweth", "Kirstin Chenoweth", etc., and you will come up with correct hits for all the various spellings and misspellings.

Alas, no it is not.  However, some young woman did regale us with her rendition of "The Man I Love".  -I didn't realize George Gershwin was still alive in the 50s and 60s.  ;)

YEAH!

I just got my itinerary for my trip down to Orlando next week.  Disney will be flying me down Wednesday morning.  Since I don't start "working" until Thursday morning, I'll have a nice afternoon and evening to spend in Orlando.  Hmm... It's been a while since I've been in/on "The Tower of Terror".  :)

However...

There is a West Side Story dance audition going on across the hall from us today.  And I just happened to spy a certain winner of a certain recent reality-competition-tv show doing the "Cool" thing.

*And the pianist they have in there is REALLY good!!!!!!!  That "Cool" dance break is one of the most awkward things to play on piano, but he's playing it, and playing it well!
