SWW are you planning on taking some driving lessons, or a driving course for seniors?

We haven't decided yet.  I used to drive, oompityfratz years ago, so the big test will be in how much I remember.

Which pedal is the brake, which one is for the gas, that sort of thing.

I watch Iron chef sometimes.

I love ugly betty. I love pushing daisies. I love eli stone.
I love lost. I love heroes. I love food network star.
You could have fooled me.  You never post about them.

I've got dinner to prepare.  Tonight this means shelling and steaming shrimp, cooking angel hair pasta, and chopping up some of the tasty veg that we got at the Farmer's Market for a light, tasty meal.

I'm thinking of using the shells for making a broth to go with the pasta.  Last time, der Brucer found the dish wonderfully tasty but a bit dry.

I once didn't drive for close to two years & asked Keith to go out with me the first time.  We only had one car and went most places together.  I never cared about driving so I didn't think much about it.  I finally realized I should drive more often. ;D

re: my foot problem from 2+ weeks ago when my foot ballooned.

It is a lot better than it was. I can walk on it no problem.

But i'm still finding it is sore to the touch. And it is bruising easily. I tried putting a sock on today for the first time since then. And it was not good.

I can't figure out if it's just because my foot is still delicate. Or if the problem was more severe than i thought. But it seems odd to me that it is still bruising when i wear certain shoes (barefoot). :(

re: lost, heroes, pushing daisies, eli stone, next food network star, ugly betty

You could have fooled me.  You never post about them.

I'm sure most of the tv addicts here know i post about those shows.
Although some like (heroes and pushing daisies) have not been on forever.

And next food network star (and top chef) air here weeks later. So i do not get to post about them (we are just starting both seasons).

But i posted a ton about lost. And about ugly betty and eli stone. Love those 3 so much.

Right now it's summer and none of those shows are on.

My 2 year old niece likes to listen to the OBC recording of THE LITTLE MERMAID when she goes to bed!

(DR Jose's post made me think of this).

Yes, a lot of Jose's posts make me think of mermaids.

I certainly wish Jrand was here so I could ask him who is stuck up Uranus.  It seems like a lot of people are being exceptionally nasty today.

Umm... A "regular" slice of cheese usually contains 10-12 grams of fat.  How many slices were on your sandwich?  (For your reference, one of those cello-wrapped slices of American Cheese is usually 120-140 calories - most of which are from fat.) And surely you have to know that bacon has fat in it too?  And was the slaw mayo free too?

;)

*And I really think you should at least have two meals a day.  One of them being breakfast of some sort.  Even if it's just a piece of fruit and/or a cup of yogurt.  Your body needs to be replenished after a night of sleep.

One small slice of cheese, thin.  Two strips of bacon total (there really isn't all that much fat in bacon - I've checked, and not many calories at all).  They don't lard on the chicken salad - very reasonable portion on white toast.  Mayo free slaw.  My guess is that the calorie count was around six or seven hundred, if that, and maybe twenty grams of fat (I can eat up to thirty and always lose weight).

Contrast the above with a foot-long Subway club - much bigger sandwich, roast beef, oil and vinegar, provolone cheese, etc.  Calorie count for that sandwich is 625.

Probably a little of both, more severe than you thought & you are still sensitive.  The bruising doesn't surprise me.  I'm very sensitive to bruising if I tie my shoe laces too tight.

Until this heals I suggest avoiding aspirin, or anything else that might encourage bruising.

As for the quality being too good, well, that's a possibility.  His clips could have also been flagged due to the number of views he was getting.

As for why or why not a clip gets taken down, well... ???

And as for pleading to AEA (Equity), you will also have to plead your case to the stagehands union, the musicians union, the dressers union, and so on and so forth.

I'm sorry that MTV Canada is not carrying the show, but, alas, that's what you get for living in Canada.  ;)

*And just remember:  Would you be OK with someone - or a slew of someones - posting your picture/image/movie/show all over the place without your pemission and/or knowledge?  And suppose you had written a script or a song, would you want that to be "shared" with everyone without any sort of monetary renumeration?

-Besides, I'm sure there is some sort of not too complicated work around to see the clips on MTV's US website on your side of the border.  ;)

The official MTV site for the show has all the auditions and I think you can watch the episodes there.

We're back from our dinner outing with my mother, who was very glad to get away from the retirement community for a while.  We stopped in to visit my aunt who will released Thursday from the transitional care unit (between hospital and home) at the same community.  We'll see how independent she's ready to be.  My mother cannot keep up looking after herself and her 10-year-younger sister.

DR Jennifer, the simple answer is if they wanted to prosecute you could go to prison for violating copyright law. I have a client who was prosecuted for selling copies of computer programs on eBay.  There was a brief time when the government went after people downloading and sharing music.

There are groups out there who monitor what is being sold, posted etc.  If someone is profiting, then they may be looking at prosecution. If not, then they will sometimes be stopped.

Having the work out there without anyone paying for the right to show it would be like going to work everyday and not being paid because the people you come in contact with want whatever it is you do for free.  I'm sure there are many who would think that's a great deal

Sounds like people who call the library for legal or medical advice and get upset when we tell them they need to contact an attorney or physician.  I've actually had someone say, "But they'll charge me money - can't you tell me for free?"

We even look up phone numbers for people who are too cheap to call directory assistance.

What's to contrast?

Both sandwiches seem to be in the 600-700 calorie range.

I've been e-mailing mp3s and sheet music for the last two hours.  Very slow going.  And now we're going to audition two people - not my idea of a Tuesday night, but it should go quickly and then I shall sit on my couch like so much fish.

Join the Jolly Old Elf himself for breakfast in Times Square at Applebee's Neighborhood Grill!  Whether you are 2 or 62 there is nothing more memorable than the time you sat on Santa’s lap and asked for that special gift.

New York City Vacation Packages is offering an exclusive limited seating breakfast with Santa on select dates. Why fight the crowds and large lines for a moment with Santa when you can share in this intimate gathering?

The breakfast buffet includes scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage, pancakes, bacon, toast, and orange juice, tea or coffee, all taxes and gratuity and one Polaroid picture with Santa per person.

2008 Schedule:
Breakfast is available at 8am or 10am on 11/28, 11/29, 12/20 or 12/21

I think all the good job vibes helped!  :)

Well, I had my first day on the new job.  Since it has a lot to do with loans & mortgages, I am not quite up to par with the lingo but am catching on somewhat.  I am very much overwhelmed in the brain but hopefully things will start sinking in in the next couple of days or by end of the week.  The people there are very nice and very patient with me and don't get upset with me when I have a lot of questions, that's a good thing!  Had a 5 hour training and then listened in to calls for 3 hours.

I better go. I have to drive about an hour to do an immigration law talk at 7:30 AM.  YIKES!!!  I've done a similar talk 2-3 times already so I just have to brush up  my outline, but I better do that and get some sleep.

Hmmm maybe I should try and get the Vixter to Legally Blonde before the 20th... although that may be difficult as the transmission man has taken all my money away
