I've got to keep this rolel.

I thought that's what DR Ron Pulliam said when he spied his morning bun.

Karen's recording of "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina" is my favorite.

der Brucer

My sister had a couple of The Carpenters' albums and their version of this song was the very first version that I'd ever heard...now, I have quite a few versions. :D

Dakota, even though I really don't like coffee, I LOVE Coffee Crisp!

When I was going to Western Washington University in Bellingham (which is close to the US/Canadian border), the school store would sell Coffee Crisp from Canada...they were not otherwise available in the US.  I would buy several before I came home to visit and share with friends and family down here in Olympia.  They had never heard of it, but liked them, too.  :)

And I've posted about this before, but won a portable CD player from U-No!

I bought one from the vending machine where I work and when I opened the wrapper it had the notice of "Winner" on the inside of the label!  I already had a portable CD player (with more options, actually), so I gave the new CD player to my dad. :)

Larry - will do it by Monday or else over the weekend; I'm figuratively chained to the homestead computer today

No problem, dear friend!

A "Good Times"/Esther Rolle reference.

The first movie I worked on, right out of college, (SUMMER OF MY GERMAN SOLDIER) starred Esther Rolle. We all really liked her!

My favorite Esther Rolle line from the movie:

Kristy MacNichol: "Ruth, why are you always such a smiling' person?"

Esther Rolle: "I likes to keep my jubilee in easy reach."

This became a catch phrase around our house. My GaGa adopted it, and now it's hard to remember the original source, I heard her say it so many times!

And she most certainly did!

Yes.

This is my mini-"sanity" break.

Today's 10 a.m. lightning deal was sold out well before the first half hour!

It was volume 1 of a Woody Allen set of his early films....the discount was 60%.

When, do you suppose, Amazon.com will ever take the clue that folks REALLY love good deals on DVDs?

Sometimes, some of the items in the Gold Box section are only 5% markdowns.  No big savings there!

But the past couple of days have been spectacular for some lucky shoppers.

"GaGa"? -- translation?  "Grandmother"?

All of you guys and gals are the GREATEST!   Jackie Gleason would have agreed.  I knew some time ago when I discovered Bruce, Guy, the unmentionable previous site and this one that I truly found my home.  Thank you all!

I just heard Os Mutantes on the Brazilian show. I'm putting them on my shopping list, but somehow I doubt I will find them at my local Borders.

Amy, go to DustyGroove.com.  Their Brasilian section is non pareil, and you can get Os Mutantes in abundance there.

And actually, I think Border's will have one or two of Os Mutantes in their world music section.

I shall now be on my way to a rehearsal, a meal, and then a run-through.  Keep the home fries burning until my returning.
