One of the headaches at work this week, left to me by a dear colleague on vacation, was an executive flying in from Poland for a long term assignment in New York. He was travelling with a wife, two children, and a cat. And due to some screw ups, no place had been secured for he and his family to stay for the next 60 days after he arrived, starting with that very night. Well, I scrambled, and one hour before he touched down, had it arranged.
This morning, I came into work to the message that he had never shown up and/or checked in to the corporate apartment. After I sent an embarrasing *wtf?* email to our corporate client, it turned out that the information had been wrong; he had, in fact, arrived and was safely sleeping there.
It was a day of high drama.
