From Yesterday by JMK, "As a former manager of a couple of temp services, I can tell you there's nothing more dreaded than the client calling and saying, "Please replace....".  Usually you're home free if you make it past the first day QC (Quality Control in temp service lingo) and then end of first week QC calls."

I hadn't even been put on the phones yet so they didn't have the chance to hear me handle a call.  Interesting, huh?

Thanks for that info. I did not remember that Best Foods was the same as Hellman's (which is what i use). Although i prefer the light blue one (i think it's called low fat).

I don't really eat cold pasta salads.

But i make a very easy tuna casserole recipe called EASY TUNA CASSEROLE, which is so good.

You cook egg noodles (more than 1/2 a package). I then in a wok mix 1 or 2 cans of tuna, 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, a bunch of cheese slices, and some frozen veggies. I add the noodles when they are cooked. You mix it up and in 10 minutes the whole dish is ready!

(btw this quantity would be enough for quite a few people to eat). The reason i make so much is because the whole can of soup is really enough for 4+ people.

And the word of the day is: INDURATE!
Which, in anagram, is URINATED.

But I don't really feel like using that in a sentence, and nothing is going to change my mind.

Good morning everyone!!!! It's been a while since I've been on, but it's really good to be back. For a comment any way. Well, first things first, I guess i have to say somthing about the MINCING TUNA, so I LOVE TUNA, but pasta and i are age old enemies. Just ask Vixmom, she knows. Also, Mr. Bruce, I was listening to the Last Starfighter CD (GOD I love that Father to Son song, it's so evil, it's great!) and I was wondering if you knew who was the person who played Zur on the CD. Because that man resally sounds evil, he should be like a bad guy's voice actor.

This might be a dumb question.

But re: making mayo.

I just remembered why i had never made it myself. Because of the raw eggs.

I think i've asked this before (in reference to another recipe). But is it okay for everyone to eat raw eggs (that are in the homemade mayo)?

The eggs should be as fresh as you can get, of course.  And get them from a reputable source.

There are pasteurized egg products out there, as well, but I don't know how good your results will be, since I've never tried them.

I always just get them from the local grocery store.

I guess with the raw eggs, the mayo probably only lasts for a day or two.

Good morning!

Summertime, and the livin' is not easy in the South: it's HOT. (To be fair, it was a little cooler this morning than it has been in the past few days, but that won't last long.)

[sigh] I had a rude realization this morning that I'm running behind on these Criterion reviews. Due to the middle man in the arrangement of sending the review copies, the review of MON ONCLE ANTOINE went up almost a week late!

TRAFIC, which comes out in stores today, is next on my agenda, but it's two discs, and I'm going to have to work like a dog today to get all of it watched and written up to make street date. Thankfully, the film itself is not very long. It would have helped if I had seen it before. With MY ONCLE ANTOINE, I could get the review started before spinning the disc because I had seen the movie before in an international cinema class I took.

Not so with TRAFIC (though I do know it's the last of the Hulot films).

The All-Star baseball game is on TV tonight.

So is BIG BROTHER and an NCIS rerun (I believe they're nearing the end of last season).

My mom called last night with the delightful news that my sister and her husband are coming to visit tomorrow.  That means that Mom and "her girls" will get to go see Mamma Mia! together Friday or Saturday  :D

Tuesday morning greetings!  Richard is at a nearby church teaching their Bible study.  He's going to do some errands and then pick me up for today's workover blood test.

Are you sure you have any left?????

Good Morning, once again!

I'm back.

I headed on down earlier to Chelsea to get my hair cut.  It had been about six weeks since my last cut, and even though there was a time in my "youth" when I actually wore my hair long(er), I really don't like it long(er) now - especially in the summer.  When I walked in, the barber gave me that, "You haven't been here in a while," look, and then stated that fact out loud.  I got settled into his chair - "1 on the sides, 3 on the top" - and about 20 minutes later... Aaaahhh... :)

Whew!

Yesterday!  Oh well.

And I got my copy of the new Movie Magazine SCARLET that has three film reviews by yours truly - I don't see any other HHW'ers represented in the column, but that may be an oversight.

Cart wrangling should be pleasant today.  It's nice and sunny, with a predicted high of 75.

Glad you got your copy, how does it look? My article/interview was cut from this issue, but should run in issue # 2. I need remember to contact them to order # 1.
