I've had a thyroid removed. So far that is all. I hope to keep all other parts as long as I can.

OMG DR MBarnum we have different tastes!

I do not like looking at jessie at all. His muscles are so ridiculous it makes me uncomfortable to look at him!

Hmmmm....."ridiculous?"

The trip down was relatively uneventful, if not that quiet.  There was a family a few rows behind me: mother, father, 5-year old son, 4-year old son, 3-year old TWINS!  Needless to say, as soon as the "Fasten Seatbelt" sign was turned off, the poor mother was up and about and digging out various toys, snacks and video games to keep her boys happy and less "yell-y".

We did have to wait about 40 minutes before we actually took off, but we only landed about 10 minutes later than scheduled, so, not too bad.  I did enjoy the extra leg room, and I got a bunch of reading done on the plane too.

My friend, Jonathan, who is also the coordinator of this whole shebang, was able to meet me at the airport, and we stopped for lunch at Panera before heading to the All-Star Resorts complex.  They were able to provide me with a free(!) Park Hopper pass for the day, and I think I really am going to try to make all four Parks somehow over the next couple of hours.  The Disney Hollywood Studios (formerly known as the Disney-MGM Studios) are open until 1:00am, so I think I'm going to head over there after the fireworks at Epcot, and stand in line for the Tower of Terror and the Rock'N'Roll Rollercoaster - which has never been open on any of my previous visits?!?!!?  It better be working today.

It does look like it's going to rain this afternoon, but I have an umbrella.  And I'd rather be caught in the rain down here in Disneyworld than almost anywhere else. ;)

DR singdaw - Celebrities?  I ain't gonna be playin' for no stinkin' celebrities on this cruise.  -Now, if I was sailing up the New England Coast with Rosie O'Donnell this week, well, that would be a different story.

-However, Angela Lansbury does provide the narration for "The Golden Mickeys".  :)

I dunno. Arizona in a monsoon storm is quite spectacular. And we are so GRATEFUL for the rain!

Well, my medical leave has been extended a week - returning to work on July 28 - mostly because I've now been given the go-ahead to be more active and need to regain some strength.  The folks at work have been most accommodating and I think another week will make a huge difference.

Thank you for all the vibes, and, yes, DR Singdaw, it turned out exactly the way I wanted!

The new book (Murder At the Grove) is not on Kritzerland for a week or two.  The only way to pre-order now is to PayPal $$ to bk.

Oy! I'm ordering two books so I guess I'll wait.

Ginny, were the blood clots in the same leg that the surgery was on?

I never had my appendix OR my tonsils removed.

DR Ron Pulliam may not have chocolate pie or lemon tarts, but he has all his bits still intact!  :D

I suspect they just probed him and sent him on his way once they realized the lights were on and no one was home.

That's great to hear, DR Ginny!  I suspect you're right; the extra days should make a great deal of difference.  Glad work isn't being a pill about it.

Once he started yammering about Bollywood, the experiment was over.

Yes, DR Laura, and I'm not sure they hadn't been there beforehand - but that's neither here nor there at this point.

I watched another BURN NOTICE this afternoon. This was the superb one with Lucy Lawless as a supposed victim until we learn something else about her. Great episode, one of the most exciting of the entire series thus far.

Then I watched VAMPYR. Primitive sound, and the film, once thought lost, has been pieced together from prints around the world, but here it is.

Strange, eerie, disconcerting for sure, and the least "vampish" vampire movie ever. Still effective, though, in establishing a shadowy, sinister world with lots of evil and resolving it by the end.

Then, I watched it all the way through again (it's only 73 minutes) listening to the very expert commentary by Tony Rayns. Noticed quite a few things the second time around that I either missed or didn't note the first time through.
