I'll try not to pig out tonight in defiance.  If I did, however, I'd probably lose weight.

I just wonder if I'll achieve my new achievement by the end of this evening?  If not, tomorrow for sure.

I dunno if George can visualize it.  The girl in the video is nowhere NEAR George's league!

:D

Of course!  I like it that way. ;)

I took in the 9:20 am screening of THE DARK KNIGHT today.

I'm not really a fan of superhero movies, but I'd heard/read so much positive feedback on this one that I thought I'd take a chance.

It's definitely the best (and darkest) BATMAN movie thus far, and probably the best (and darkest) superhero movie ever made.

Heath Ledger is terrific as The Joker and definitely deserves Oscar consideration.  In fact, all of the movie's characters are multi-dimensional, and the plot was pretty involving with some real surprises.

On the whole, I enjoyed the picture, though I do think it could have lost 15+ minutes.  Perhaps The Joker had one too many tricks up his sleeve.

Although the action sequences with Batman were spectacular, I found myself becoming a bit bored with them from time-to-time, particularly when the film's choppy editing made it a bit difficult to figure out who was who and what was what.

Additionally, the ending, I felt, was a bit anti-climatic.

On a scale from 1-10, I'd give THE DARK KNIGHT a 7.

But, that's just my opinion.

Do you eat every 2 to 3 hours?  Even if it's something healthy, the more often you eat your metabolism will speed up.  Maybe you already knew this, if so, never mind! :)

DR JulieC40, Jand and I and others have been trying to tell BK this for years

What do you think of it as a movie being heavily marketed to the 4-9 year old crowd (the ones reading the ads on the back of their morning cerel box)

Well, when ozDerek was alive, he used to send me tons of jokes ranging from silly to outrageously rude. I could send you all dirty jokes.

It is NOT a movie for kids.

Try explaining that to an eight-year old who's been a Batman fan for years and is being bombarded with ads on TV, the supermarket, WAL-MART, etc.

My drive out to my mom's, going to the movies with Mom and my sister, and my drive home wore me out.  It's clear that I have a lot more strength to regain.

We had a great time seeing Mamma Mia!   I'd seen it twice on stage, my mom once, and my sister never.

Meryl Streep does a fantastic job; in fact, all the women are well-cast.  Pierce Brosnan canNOT sing - couldn't they have found a middle-aged hunk who can?  I loved the "opening up" of the action.

The songs are somewhat reordered and I only have one quibble.  My favorite sequence from the stage version is "Take a Chance on Me" to the wedding bridge to "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do."  Those elements are still there, but the ordering falls flat, IMHO.  And in the end credits, which I think are supposed to be kind of a curtain call, the pictures don't match the names as they're being shown.  That's a little sloppy, I think.
