I very sorry and was looking forward to your interview.

She is one of my all time favorite singers.

Well, I think you will have to wait a VERY long time for that interview! :'(

And as it's not "my" film anymore, well...   :'( :'( :'(

Jane Jane Jane
True to my sweetheart I'm going to be

Well, when ozDerek was alive, he used to send me tons of jokes ranging from silly to outrageously rude. I could send you all dirty jokes.

I'll consider you paid up since you sent me that morning wake up call! My editing room companions appreciated it, too!

I'm going to the mountains tomorrow to celebrate my Dad's birthday (11 days early but when everyone could get together.) So I'm going to make one of my favorite bring-along dishes. It's VERY easy! People never expect me to bring anything I've cooked, so it's been fun to cook up something for the last 3 weekends. Here's the recipe:

Sesame Noodles with Asparagus Tips
From the book Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone by Deborah Madison
Serves   6 to 8
Introduction

Whenever people ask what they can make a lot of easily and ahead of time for a party, this is what I suggest. It’s endlessly versatile; you can vary the vegetable to go with the season, using, for example, snow peas, roasted peppers, grilled eggplant, julienned carrots, mung bean sprouts, and fresh or dried shiitake mushrooms.

Ingredients

Marinade
¼    cup sesame oil
3    Tbsp. dark sesame oil
7    Tbsp. soy sauce
3    Tbsp. Chinese black or balsamic vinegar
3½    Tbsp. dark brown sugar
2    tsp. salt
2    tsp. chili oil
1    Tbsp. minced ginger
1    garlic clove, finely chopped
¼    cup chopped cilantro
Noodles and asparagus
~    Salt
2    lb. asparagus, trimmed and thinly sliced on a diagonal
1    (14 oz.) package thin Chinese egg noodles
10    scallions, including the firm greens, thinly sliced
¼    cup sesame seeds, toasted until lightly browned
Steps

Mix the marinade ingredients together, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add salt and the asparagus. Cook until bright green and tender but still firm, just a few minutes. Scoop the asparagus out, rinse it under cold water, and set on a towel to dry.
Pull the noodles apart with your fingers, add them to the boiling water, and give them a quick stir. Boil until tender but not overly soft, tasting them often as they cook. It should take only a few minutes. Pour the noodles into a colander and immediately rinse under cold water. Shake off the excess water.
Toss the noodles with all the marinade and most of the scallions, sesame seeds, and asparagus. Mound them in a bowl or on a platter, then garnish with the remaining asparagus, scallions, and sesame seeds.

One of my favorite Barenaked Ladies songs is "One Week" and probably my favorite version is THIS version.  It's one of their "Bathroom Sessions" songs. ;D

This week has been so stressful at work that I have gotten NO exercise, yet I will be hopping on the scale tomorrow for the moment of truth. Last week when I weighed in, after 2 weeks, I'd lost 6 pounds (sorry bk) but this week I would be surprised if I hadn't gained! Of course, 6 pounds doesn't even make a dent in what I need to lose, but it's a start...

I'm tired today. I was up until 2:30 AM transcribing an interview that 2 court reporters and my assistant can't seem to be able to understand well enough to transcribe.   It's street talk and he talks softly so you have to go over it and over it, but it isn't THAT bad.  I did 24 pages last night and will finish the rest this weekend. He's a key witness so I don't have a choice, I just can't believe everyone else gave up so quickly

And of course there is their song "Pinch me" which DR Sandra would appreciate since it has the lyrics

"I could hide out under there....I just made you say underwear"

That was very good!  I also found this song...it's Weird Al Yankovic's version called, "Jerry Springer."

Hysterical! ;D And the complete lyrics are posted.

Pretty funny, George.

Seriously, Steven Page can really sing.  He broke from one of their songs while he was here and did something traditional, it wasn't Somewhere Over the Rainbow, well maybe it was, anyway his voice was fabulous.  And I can say as performers, I haven't been to a concert that was so much fun and so entertaining. They really do know how to put on a show.  It was the first "rock" type concert I ever went to by myself and I had a BLAST. I'll have to look for my CDs of the show.  On that tour you could go online and download the concert you went to. You paid for it, of course, but you got your actual concert.  They always do a riff about the town they are in, so there is no question you are listening to your concert.

Just seeing their music videos and clips of them performing, I wouldn't doubt that they put on a great show. :)

That's a GREAT idea!  I always thought that performers (or even shows!) should do something like that.  There is so much bootlegging going on ( ;)) and this could be a great money-maker for the band.  I would think that in general, people want recordings of the shows that they went to and would be willing to pay for a legitimate copy.  They wouldn't have to worry about being caught or making sure they got a good "bootleg."  They could just enjoy the show. :)

I wonder how Equity would deal with this, if the idea was ever presented to theatrical producers. :D

I got 10 more episodes of TRANSFORMERS watched tonight. That leaves 17 more. They introduced a couple of new characters in some of these episodes including a really annoying Valley girl-type transformer in league with the bad guys. She's REALLY irritating.

I had a headache and a sore back most of the day. I wanted to see the new location of my favorite furniture store, so I went there about 4:30 PM or so and was immediately greeted by my favorite salesman (who likes me because I buy things sometimes) I saw the massaging chairs and said I wanted to try one. He sat in the one next to me and after about 15-20 minutes we traded chairs and sat there another 15-20 minutes. It was hilarious. It also really gave my back a massage and took away my headache.  He said I should buy one. I said why when I could just use theirs!
