DR JRand57...bk dispensed with that rule some time ago.  You can post consecutively, so long as it is just one name per post.

To reply to S. Woody's question of yesterday:

I have heard of, and have seen, "Dr. Who", in both the 70s (?) BBC incarnation and in the current one.

I had heard of the character "Tintin" but knew nothing about him, per se.

Looking it up, it seems "Tintin" is a made-to-order subject for Mr. Spielberg.  I'm certain he'll have no difficulty finding a suitable writer to replace the defecting one.  The question is, how will "Tintin" translate to/for the 21st Century?

I don't believe one can equate any ratings for a British TV program with ratings for anything in the U.S.   You'd need to know the precise ratio of TVs there being monitored and the proportional equation to population, just was you'd need to know the same for sets in the U.S.  I doubt, seriously, that anyone adequately rates TV programs based on what a representative percentage of any population watches.  I know U.S. ratings are skewed toward a much younger viewing audience -- 17-24, for instance.  Are ratings in the U.K. skewed the same way?

By skewed toward, I mean that this rating group seems to mean much more to the networks than any other age demographic.

I'm going to count this.  The name means big hill in Welsh, and since it has both a first and last word I think it qualifies.

But only just barely.   ;)

Brokeback Mountain
That's it, throw it right back at me.

I'm going to defer to our exteemed BK for a ruling on this one.  (Until that ruling, it will be on the list, but let's keep this to a minimum - I'd hate to have to delete lots of posts.)

added thought - there are critics who would argue that Brokeback Mountain is as much a character in the film as any of the humans.

I hope the previous item wasn't a serious violation of the one-name-per-post rule.

They were identical twins, and this film was their one major appearance in cinema.

If it helps, I'll put Bobby Mauch's name in this post so they each appear in separate posts.

Last night i ended up watching Andew Lloyd Webber on HOW DO YOU SOLVE A PROBLEM LIKE MARIA. So i must watch last night's BIG BROTHER today.

Tonight on tv for me:

THE MOLE

CANADIAN IDOL

HOW DO YOU SOLVE A PROBLEM LIKE MARIA results show.

I thought ALW was funny. Interestingly he would not say his favorite out loud. Although the other judges really praised 3 out of the 4. Yet declared 2 of them their favorites. My favorite is the 3rd, jayme.  The weird this is when i tried to vote her line was busy for 90 minutes. What the heck??? How can they seem who got the most calls if one cannot even get thru!

I found out PROJECT RUNWAY season 5 will start here on sept 1st (i guess that is like 6 weeks after the US). Not sure why they do this every season.  Oh well. I guess i'll just have to block out the eliminated contestants!
