Same-Sex Spouses Make Progress in New York Toward Securing Health Benefits

NEW YORK — Same-sex couples may soon get full health-care coverage for their spouses following a successful court challenges and a directive from the governor.

"People don't realize that we as a same-sex couple that receives domestic partner benefits gets taxed on those benefits," Golden said. "Whereas if it's spousal benefits, like any other married couple out there, they are not taxed on those benefits."

As for TOD

I don't think I ever had a really outstanding pizza. They have been good and great and tasty, but never outstanding.

My current favorite is rosemary chicken and with sun dried tomato, spinach, and Mozarella on honey wheat crust.

It is served at Humpys Pizza & Pannini.

Their slogan is "It's HUMP-A-LICIOUS

Not with the added "richness" from the bacon bits and bleu cheese.

I believe he was being facetious, Jose!    :D

Lovely photos from the do last night.  DR CILLA LIZ is on TV again!  Can't really tell from the TV reports how the case seems to be going.

DR Jennifer, re: So You Think You Can Dance

I agree, I was surprised Will got the axe -- but I was wondering if all the fawning over him being Debbie Allen's protege turned a lot of the public off. It did for me in the beginning. Actually, I had real problems with it when she was a judge during the early rounds -- she should have been off the panel from the beginning if any of her students were trying out. And then every chance they got -- someone during the judges' comment, or from Cat, or the camera cutting to Debbie smiling or clapping for him in the audience, etc. etc. -- they kept reminding us. Several weeks there, I was like, okay, enough already, we get it, he trained with Debbie Allen and you want him to win-- it made me root against him even though he's a great dancer because I felt like they were trying to manipulate the voting and us, the audience ... But his James Brown solo won me over the other night, so I thought Mark might be on the chopping block. Comfort was a one-trick pony -- great doing the hip-hop, street stuff, but came across as uncomfortable doing anything else. Katee should win the whole enchilada...

Good morning, good day, how are you this beautiful day?  I'm up after a pretty good night's sleep, which surprised me.  I'll now see if I can get out of here for a jog by nine-thirty.  If not, I may have to forego the jog.

Good morning, all! The photos look great from last night, and so does the food.  I feel as though I haven't seen DR singdaw nor vixmom in centuries, and I believe this is one of the few times that I've missed my dear friend BK when he's in Manhattan. I send "break-a-leg vibes" to everyone for tonight's show![move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[/move]
Today, I have a trip to the 42nd Street NYPL to look over the 1903-1906 correspondence of Townsend Walsh, business manager and publicist for Babes In Toyland, and I may nmake an emergency run up to my storage space to pick up some of the plastic bags containing pillows, blankets, etc. in mothballs. I figure after 6 months any critters that might be inside them are dead, and I'd like to launder them all tomorrow morning.
I'm also hot to see THE X-FILES movie, so who knows what else wll be on today's agenda?
Back from a two-mile jog.  I jogged up to 95th, which is slightly uphill all the way - very difficult.  Coming back was easier, although by that time I was thoroughly exhausted.  But I made it and am now sweating like Ye Olde Pig.  In then minutes or so I'll take a shower, get dressed and then be on my way to work with Crista and Michael Lavine, then on to Penn Station, then Great Neck, then the park.  I'll be back around midnight so keep the home fries burning until my returning.
Good morning!
Cool enough this morning to go without A/C, but I have a feeling I'll be turning it on when I go back downstairs. It's been overcast most of the morning, and the street was wet when I went out to get the newspaper, so it must have drizzled early this morning.
The X-FILES movie has not gotten very positive notices which was a great disappointment to me. I liked the last one and had high hopes for this one.
I am now officially caught up on the last two days' worth of posts. I had lots of smart retorts to DR MBarnum's inquiry on gamekeepers but I thought DR Jose said it best, I appreciate DR Ron Pulliam's efforts to get some of Skips yumilicious dinner to me today, and I really liked seeing the photos of last night's gathering and the yummilicious meal.
I forgot to mention last night, that one of my most amazing finds yesterday was the Victor Herbert Orchestra set of parts for the Overture to The Lady of the Slipper; the Violin 1 & 2 parts are marked for stand, so the Violin i parts are marked "Violin I/1 Vilin 1/2 Violin 1/3, etc, " so Violin 1/1 is the stand for the concert master and his associate. On the part is written in pencil "played by Kitty . . . . , Harold Sanford (who was also Herbert's orchestrator as well as concert master), and Fred Landau(!!!)" who was another concert master for the Herbert Orchestra. I'm wondering if there's a 1912 violinist in our DR FJL's past?
I'm off to the NYPL.
