On the ride home the Vixter said, "I'm glad your're my mom."

Before I had a chance to glory in my daughter's love and appreciation for me she added. "You know the best people"

In my opinion, going to Fred and Skip's  for dinner and dieting is like going to a Broadway musical and wearing earplugs

I've been to a couple where I wish I had earplugs.

After a wonderful evening we drove home to the Island o' Long
and got to bed  alitelpast midnight... I was up t 6 and at the gym by 6:30... I got in 1/2 hour on the ellipitcal and another hour on the the machines and free weights,  drove home and showered, dressed and drove the Vixter out to the Girl Scout camp out just a littel southeast of where Ben and Anthony are spending the weekend
back home to run some errands, asnd start gathering clothes to get rid of....

I have decided I need to remove all the larger sizes from the house so that backsliding will be problematic

Whew! A full evening with THE DOORS on Blu-ray. The movie is very long - 2 hours 20 minutes, and it's always been a bit of a mess. SOme good performances and come good era vibes, but all surface, no substance. Stone's script doesn't burrow into their psyches at all, so I always feel at the end like it's unfinished, there's more to explore and discover.

And the disc was loaded with supplements. One was a French documentary on Morrison's life there before his death. It lasted almost an hour. A couple of recently produced featurettes on the film's authenticity (or lack thereof) also combined to about an hour. Then there were 43 minutes of deleted scenes.

And an audio commentary which I only sampled about 30 minutes of instead of listening to the entire thing. Stone was very laid back and not especially chatty in this one.

I did have a few minutes, so I started on last night's MONK, but I only got about 15 minutes in. Looks like a good one this week. I'll finish it tomorrow while I cook and eat lunch.

I think I may take a free day tomorrow and watch things only for fun and nothing for review. We'll see how I feel about that tomorrow.

LEKIN...(1990).

A very spooky movie starring Vinod Khanna and Dimple Kapadia.

I'm back from a VERY long and exhausting day, and before I get to the notes to talk about it, let me just say that I am a huge fan of Mr. Dello Joio and did as much of his music on CD while at Bay Cities as was humanly possible.

Laura - Thanks.  I'm especially interested in who's scheduled for the two Monday August 18th performances.
