And the word of the day is: SESQUIPEDALIAN!
To the best of my memory, I don't think I've ever heard even the greatest SESQUIPEDALIAN use the word antidisestablishmentarianism in a sentence, other than referring to the word itself.

Well, I have to say I believe that is our first on-the-pot photo posted here!
Although Mikey may have posted something like that on an old-fashioned birthday card.

Gee, Happy Meals and the playground is why we like taking the lads to McDonald's. They get to pick the meal of their choice, and you get fast service (and the kids usually opt for a milkshake over a soda). The toys usually wait 'till after they eat and the playground is a great way of letting them burn off energy while the old folks sit a spell. More often than not the toys get left in the car. I always budget the extra playground time into the shopping trips, so it work's out fine.

der Brucer
Speak for yourself!  I loathe and detest McDonalds.  McDonalds is evil!  Evil, I say, EVIL!

As for "The old folks sit for a spell," that's because I'm on my feet supervising.  Only the really old folk sits.

At least the younger grandlad knows that there are interesting foods to be eaten at places other than McD's.  The older grandlad thinks of that dastardly place as the epitome of culinary delights.  Danged brat has no desire to aim any higher.  Bleh.

Dear BK:

You might want to consider poaching a chicken breast or two at home, instead of buying them fried at Popeye's.  Poaching them will result in them coming out nice and juicy, and flavorful.  Have one now, refrigerate the other cooked one for later.  Saves money that way, too.

I quite often use the cooking liquid for making some nice rice for a side dish.  And don't forget to have a fresh veg - steaming works fine for cooking the veg.

Low-cal, hi-flavor.  Can't be beat!

All of the airline troubles of BK and JulieC40 make me realize how fortunate I was to have relativley trouble free flights on my last two NYC trips.

And what I would really like to know is why no DRs who are booking cabs or cars to and from the airport in NY don't hire Gudda, the Egyptian driver I had last time I was there?! He is so nice and fun to chat with, and his car was so comfy!

Oh, and he had a great collection of Egyptian pop music CDs which he played for me upon request!

For some reason, the Russet potatoes at the store today were on the puny side.  I think they're the first of the new crop.  In any case, I'm trying something a little different tonight - der B and I will have two smallish potatoes each, one each with bacon and one each with mushrooms.

That, plus steak and iceberg lettuce wedges.

(No, not lo-cal, but der B and I don't worry about such things.)

Oh, and the JetBlue backlash has begun, I truly believe.  I got an e-mail from them today announcing BIG sales on upcoming flights.

That's not a "backlash".  That's a sale - and a way to increase business for the fall.  -And almost all the airlines are running similar promotions.

I've been doing a lot of work today on several different projects.  One of them is this series of seminars, workshops, and panels I'm doing for my alumni association, LACCTAA.  The first of them is booked - my friend Barbara Deutsch and her life-coaching seminar.  I'm waiting to hear back from Karen Morrow about the musical theater workshop she'll be doing - when that date is set then I'll book the panel discussion with former LACC students who've had successful careers in the business, talking about how they've survived.

I've also been making inquiries about certain performers for this NY gig, and one of them, Mr. Jason Graae, can do it.  So, that's one down.
