JMK- I know nothing about Craig's List, so how and where did you list your 100 DVDs for sale?  I'm thinking of getting rid of stuff - it's just too too much here and some of it I will never ever watch again.

It's simply a free "want ads" on the internets.  :)  Craigslist.org is the main address, then find L.A. (they may even have a subsection for Studio City), then locate "for sale" and "Movies/DVDs" or whatever it's called.  Just make sure to go with the anon reply (the default) and not to list your phone number, etc. in the ad.  I made that mistake when I listed a tv I thought no one would be interested in and I had probably 50 calls in the first 15 minutes after it posted.

DR George - I still use XP at work and at home.  I'm curious about Vista, but have also heard some horror stories.  It's probably not as bad as all that - I think it's mostly driver and compatibility issues.  It will be interesting to hear your take on it all.

The horror stories that I've heard all relate to the lack of drivers for existing programs.  Here at work, that's something that I don't have to worry about. ;)

I just bought a new printer/scanner/fax/copier for home and it's Vista compliant.  That was the one thing that I looked for in a new printer.  So now, I have this older (and still a very good) scanner that I no longer need.  My old printer, of course, totally crapped out, so that's why I got a new one.

I wouldn't be too certain of this....I saw a story once on Bing buying a house in "orchard" country. He liked it for the openness, the fresh air, and the fruit.  I'm thinkin' his chickens MAY have had lemons in 'em...or oranges.

In fact the only driver issue I still have over a year into my Vista experience  ;D is with the HP printer that came with my Vista HP computer.   I still can't just press the "Scan" button on the printer, I have to to to Windows Imaging and "import".

Shucks!  I've missed something!  To what, or whom, have you been submissive?

I haven't mentioned anything about it here.   As yet.

Poaching entails simmering in a lightly flavored liquid. The most simple poached chicken would involve putting chicken in a pot, covering with water, bring to a simmer, and cook until done (20-25 minutes for parts, some 40 minutes for a 3-4 lb. whole chicken).

Poaching works well for chickens that are full-flavored (bigger birds, game hens or capons), since they tend to get tough if roasted, and poaching lets them loosen up a bit.

Advantages of poaching: very simple, fairly quick, no fat added, no chance of meat drying out (worst comes to worst, the meat just gets a bit mushy). Disadvantage: very little flavor added. Generally, I'd only poach chicken as preparation for chicken salad.

Thanks.

What's the difference between poaching and boiling a chicken?

I'm wondering whose story would make the most entertaining film?

How about "The Crown Goes to War" (George V, Edward VIII, and George VI) - we would get the Lost Prince and the Duchess of Windsor as sub-plots.

Good Afternoon!

We're just waiting for one more person, and then we, well I, will be finished for the day.  -And for the week.

*And then I plan on spending this weekend on taking care of some long overdue cleaning, organizing and sorting and purging.  -I hope. ;)
