I had a gi-normous burger for lunch today with mushrooms, bacon, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, raw onions...on an artisan bun...with a side of garlic fries.

YUMMYLICIOUS!

Has anyone here heard about the latest theory on the T-Rex?

Paleontologist Jack Horner (I know, he must have been mercilessly teased as a child) says his analysis of everything that has been discovered on T-Rex up until now indicates that he wasn't very fast, wasn't a major predator and was, most likely, a scavenger.

T-Rex had very small arms...and a rather tenuous "balance" that would have precluded him ever attacking, much less holding his own, against another creature.  In fact, Horner says (and showed via computer animation), if any T-Rex ever lost his balance and fell over, chances are slim he'd ever have been able to get up.

Of course, he's just one man.  And science being what it is, I'm sure many are laughing, laughing, laughing.  But he convinced me in a program I watched last night...also on HD channel.

I've had Vista by necessity since the week it came out--our old XP computer died the day they pulled all XPs off the shelves and I had to buy Vista.  There were some driver issues to begin with, but I haven't experienced anything like that for well over a year (and in fact I really didn't have any problems anyway, I just downloaded drivers until I found something that worked).

At this point, I don't need to upgrade my home computer...yet, but I know that someday, I will.  My sister's boyfriend built it and installed all the programs, so when I do upgrade, I have practically instant customer support. :D

Things are a little weird here at work. This post house has been in business since the '70's. I knew something was up, but today it is official: the owner is selling the business to new owners, who have "big plans". I hope we can continue to work on THE CLOSER here, because it would be a major pain to relocate the media, plus we have a great work flow here!

I hope everyone gets to keep their jobs. I can't blame the owner--his wife passed away suddenly eariler this year and now he just wants to be near his kids and grandkids. I hope he enjoys his retirement; it is well-earned.

Just finished the promos for CLOSER episode 5, which will be the Flynn and Provenza episode, with guest star Jennifer Coolidge. So funny!

So....you just dangle this thing about being on tenterhooks, so to speak, and say you're hopeful about your submissions...and nobody here knows what it is you're talking about?

Is that your story?  And are you going to stick to it?

 ;)

Submission - stool sample?

DR George - I still use XP at work and at home.  I'm curious about Vista, but have also heard some horror stories.  It's probably not as bad as all that - I think it's mostly driver and compatibility issues.  It will be interesting to hear your take on it all.

DR elmore3003 - thanks for the gift of all those wonderful vintage photographs!   :)

***JOB INTERVIEW VIBES*** for DR JulieC40!!!

I have Vista at the office and XP at home. I haven't had any problems with either.   I don't mind Vista at all. Frankly, I'm used to it and don't even notice the difference between that and XP

I am just about ready to go. My brother-in-law's sister is having a birthday party. It should be fun. Only thing is i am responsible for bringing all the food (chinese). For 17 people. And then i have to come back home to get the frozen desserts!  I'm just hoping the food is ready when i get there.  And that it won't have been sitting for too long.

So i won't get to watch BB and SYTYCD till much later!

Grief can befall those you try to install their older XP applications on a new Vista machine. I hear tell that my older MS Office Professional would not work with Vista.

My interview went pretty well but they did give testing for spelling, typing, and Excel.  I did great on the 1st two.  I did better on Excel on other tests but this I only got 55%, dang!  I was so upset with myself.  After I chose the answers, I realized it was wrong after it was too late.  Well, we'll see.  Then I got home and had another message from The Alzheimer's Association as I sent them my resume for a Help Desk Specialist.  I have an interview with them on Monday at 1:00 p.m.

I'm on my way out the door to go home. I'll catch up on posts when I get there.  Closing went great, I'm sure the vibes helped.  Jury went out at about 12:30 and just went home for the night. They will resume deliberations in the morning.

Yesterday afternoon until just after 10:00PM we were without power.  According to our local power company it was due to...ready for this....
"an emergency repair". ???  ;D

At least Wednesday night was a slow TV night for us.  I don't think we missed anything.
