Very few people have seen Scent Of Mystery. It only played about four weeks and then was gone forever. It was ultimately made into a three-panel Cinerama travelogue (they extracted the three panels from the 70mm Todd AO negative) called Holiday In Spain, shorn of smells and about thirty minutes of film. Denholm Elliot, the film's star, was called back to provide narration, since the thirty shorn minutes rendered the film incoherent. The original intermission point was changed and it was awful. They aired Holiday In Spain version once in the late 80s - it looked like someone had set up a video camera and taped the center panel of the three-panel print, which was completely faded. It was horrible. eBay sellers sell that awful mess, and usually for big bucks.
