The Nimoy rendition of "Hammer" gets especially poignant when he stops singing and starts speaking on the third chorus.  Worth the wait if not the weight.

I liked Fraser's first MUMMY film. It had a sub-INDIANA JONES vibe to it that I enjoyed. The second one seemed a muddle, way too anxious to outdo the first and not succeeding.

I'll see the third one when it arrives on HBO or some other pay cable service in a year.

A regular Strum Thurmond, that one.

Or is that a Strumboli?

I began my evening of viewing by finishing the last two SOUTH PARK episodes in the box set. One on the Wii was pretty funny.

The other was a dud about girls in their 4th grade class compiling a list of the best looking boys, and it turns into this conspiracy. Not a great way to end the season.

Perhaps that was Annette's audition for Strumbelina?

Next, I was in the mood for James Bond, so I put in the Ultimate Edition of THUNDERBALL and watched about 70 minutes of it.

That was Brendan Fraser in THE STRUMMY, though, wasn't it?

The STRUM-PETS was, I believe, a proposed sequel to the ARISTO-CATS.

Next, I watched Friday night's MONK. A fairly good mystery (I had no idea how the deceit was pulled off), but Shalhoub and Tralor Howard each overplayed their hands.

DR Elmore mentioned it the other night, but I'll say it, too. It was nice seeing Gregory Jbara. He looked very good.

Next, I skimmed through DOCTOR WHO from Friday night just to see my TORCHWOOD folks. Not enough of them, of course, but good to even have a little bit of them.

Isn't the actor playing the doctor the same actor who played Barty Crouch, Jr. in HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE?

Annette looks gorgeous in that clip....I have never heard of that movie, however.

And I ended my Saturday evening watching Thursday's night rather terrifying episode of FEAR ITSELF. Really had my heart racing in a couple of places, and the makeup on one actor was so ghastly that he didn't even have to do anything. Just looking at him gave me the creeps.

JRand, to get me ready for the Bollywood movie, I watched and episode of MAN AND THE CHALLENGE...I rather like that show...I must check into finding more episodes...George Nader looks quite handsome and I had forgotten that Joyce Meadows was in it...and there was a good amount of beefcake on display...George's friends, perhaps.

I was thinking the same thing BeefCake wise, especially that guy he practiced his karate on - er - with.

That is the only episode I have ever found....and it certainly doesn't make much sense, science wise....but yes George looks fine.  And Joyce is interesting....if not charismatic.

Remember, though, the classic exchange from Back to the Beach:

Connie:  Frankie was always the kind of guy you could only catch with a net

Frankie:  Connie, you remember Annette?

Or something like that?

Was Back to the Beach even nominated for any Oscars?  A SKAndal, if you ask me, a Jamaica SKAndal.

Well, of course it was a far cry from her role in THE BRAIN FROM PLANET AROUS.

Connie:  You always were a good girl.

Annette:  Yes, I was.

Connie:  You sure wasted a good set of hooters.

Annette:  No.....I didn't.

Another classic exchange from BACK TO THE BEACH....which sadly did NOT receive any Academy consideration.

Annette wrote in her book that people always were surprised to see her out with her husband in a nightclub smoking a Lark (the cigarette not the car) and having a drink.

Fan:  Why, Annette, I didn't know you smoked and drank....

Annette:  Yes.  I also have three children, so guess what else I do.....
