I finished CALL GIRL (1974). The leads were two performers I had never seen before...neither one went on to great career heights, but I thought they were both quite good. The ending made me cry a little bit.

Now should I watch another Bollywood movie or a spaghetti western?

...thanks to FJL ... did my part to get us to page 5, so it's time to go meet our neighbors' new dog. The little boy just called and wants us to come meet her ...

Miss Karen, no rain around here. I am ever hopeful, though.

The temp here is currently around 95 although my car said 100. The heat index is 107...gee, reminds me of the old days in Phoenix

I totally adore my new Blackberry.  The car charge I bought was identical to the one I already had for my last phone (first time THAT'S ever happened) so I returned it today. Had I thought about it being 100 degrees I may have waited until tomorrow

I have spent the rest of the day inside. Unclogging the kitchen sink drain, taking a nap, watching stuff that was on my DVR

Has anyone here been able to get the new iPhone.  Unlike the first generation, where they made a humungous number of them and they just sat at the stores, this time they under did it and are keeping the stores short-shipped, which is, I think, their way of keeping demand, by making them seem hard to get.  I think it's shameless and shameful.

Think I'll go make some corn on the cob for dinner.  I had some tasty eggplant a couple hours ago.  I'm pretty much just munching the fresh veges I bought at the market.

I watch it regularly - it has steadily improved and is quite enjoyable. (It does have last year's Tony-nominated Mary McCormack and Fred Weller. whom you may have seen very exposed in Take Me Out.)

I think In Plain Sight is better now than when it started as well.  I'm an avid watcher! :)

Sis is making turkey burgers for dinner...smells good and I'm starving!

DR BK, Hey, when you were in NY where did you go for meals?  I was just curious if any of them might have been any of the same ones for us.  Just curious.

I believe the vitamin water has LOTS of sugar. Sure tastes good on a hot day, though.

I recently read something that said it isn't healthy for you.

That bottled vitamin water is great, if you love/want sugar.  Otherwise, forget it.

I just went to Cowboy Envy's release party for their new CD. I would have been bitch-slapped had I not attended. The accordion player was passing through between assignments in Africa so I was able to see everybody, buy CDs and get them signed, and back in time to try to cook something for dinner.

This cooking thing is still pretty new to me, old as I am. I'm going to try brown rice and chicken stir-fry with edamame and walnuts (subbing pecans for walnuts.)

We'll see...

%#* *@&^!!!!

Or, in more civilized language - YEE-OUCH!

I just dropped a candle on my foot - yes, the foot that was operated on.  Was it a birthday candle?  NO!  Was it a thin taper?  NO!  It was a brand new pillar candle, about 2" in diameter and about 8" tall.  Hurt like $%##!

But, it seems to be OK now and I'm just glad I didn't do something that stupid a couple of weeks ago.

Since the posts are rather low this afternoon...and BK had mentioned that he never finds good stuff at thrift stores or garage sales...here are my finds from this weekend....

I got this very nice rayon 1940s mens robe...I don't know if it shows ore not in the picture but the design on it are shaped like spider webs....it is very cool! I collect these old robes and I think this will be among my favorites.

This was $6.50 at St Vincent DePaul.
